11/28/42 Letter:
Dear Mr. Cayce,
"It was nice to receive your letter and I am enclosing check
herewith for the book "The Story of your Life", which I know
will be very, very lovely and interesting and enlightening.
"Regarding my property, I regret to say I was not able to
sell it. I guess it was a hopeless situation from the very
beginning. The Convent would still buy it, but WITHOUT
restrictions, to which surrounding property owners will
not consent. And thereon hangs the tale. My little business
is just about holding its own, actual profits do not as yet
support myself, to say nothing of my family. But I am
holding to all the principles of your teachings and having
faith in God's abundance, I keep going. I have worked very,
very hard, but as most people tell me, the first year of any
business is good if you can hold your own. But I am not
attuned to any limitations, I am attuned to plenty and
am looking for it. I still have not forgotten about the
miniature work, but the price I should have is only for the
well to-do and even for them it is a luxury. Also I have
been physically so tired, that I would not have been able to
do this work, had I had it. - But it may still work out.
"With kind regards to you and yours, I am,"
Sincerely yours, [
428]
"P.S. I enclose a second check for $3. - for 3 books "In
Search of God". Would you autograph them, please, I would
appreciate it & thank you. Best wishes to you and yours."
7/01/43 Letter:
Dear Mr. Cayce,
"Wonders never cease!!! There is much I would like to write
you, but at this particular writing I must be brief. You may
not know that I found it necessary to give up my Shop, but
it was all for the better. I am now employed at ...'s Photo
Shop, where our beloved [
315] was. This last week he was
home on furlough and you may know that our first conversation
was "Mr. Cayce". It is the link that binds us. I have not
had very much time to talk to him, there are many older
and better friends that wanted [
315], but when he mentioned
yesterday that a check-reading might be well for him, I
naturally give him my wholehearted support and volunteered
to write for him with check enclosure; but he will have to
affix time and place for the reading. Please give this
reading for [
315].
"I hope all and everything is well with you and remain,"
Yours very truly, [
428]
5/30/45 Letter:
Dear Gladys,
"The reading matter received recently mentioning the passing
of both Mr. & Mrs. Cayce, was a great shock to me and knowing
how close you have been to both of them through all the
years, I extend to you my sincere sympathy."
Lovingly yours, [
428]
11/19/49 Letter:
Dear Mrs. Kahn, [Chairman of a drive to raise funds for
Edgar Cayce Foundation to process the readings]:
"I am sorry not to be able to come and outside of my own
contemplated contribution I have nothing to report. ($50.-)
"Right now I have painters in may house and my own work up
to this point has kept me fully occupied.
"I will report again later." [
428]
5/31/50 She wrote HLC & GD that she had recently sold her
home and had moved to Vermont to live with her daughter [
451]
and family.
3/27/51 Letter:
Dear Gladys,
"Your short footnote on the bottom of the Financial
Statement made me very happy and I am glad to hear that my
contribution helped the cause. In truth, however, no amount
of money can ever compare with the soul comfort and all
around wisdom we all have gained from our contact with your
beloved Mr. Cayce and all those, you very much included, who
have helped him in his work."
4/17/51 Letter:
"It is amazing and almost unbelievable how many fine things
came through our beloved Mr. Cayce. [See
5749-3, etc.]
"I am also very glad that I sent for your article [
5/01/49
INFLUENCES FROM WITHOUT Searchlight] because, although the
information which I get [through automatic writing in which
Mr. [
322] comes through] is most helpful to me personally
and comes in the form of teaching and guiding [also by "Lord
Michael"], I will nevertheless adopt the meditation given
therein. We live here in the Green Mountains, cannot see
our nearest neighbor and have practically no contact with
the outside world. My own affairs are in order, but [
451]
and [
430] are struggling with a new business and my worries,
those that I have occasionally, are mostly concerning them.
So the messages that come through sustain me with good advice
for my behavior, to be patient, to keep my faith and to be
cheerful. There is no doubt that I am getting closer to the
Creative forces, so I will continue but shall be on guard.
I cherish YOUR article as well as the two others.
"Kindly give my best regards to Hugh Lynn and with best
regards and love to you, I am,"
Sincerely yours, [
428]
11/29/66 GD's note: Mrs. [
428] is still on the active
mailing list of A.R.E.
