This psychic reading given by Edgar Cayce at his office, 105th St. & Ocean, Virginia Beach, Va., this 17th day of January, 1932, in accordance with request made by self - Mr. [437], Associate Member of the Ass'n for Research & Enlightenment, Inc., recommended by Mr. [437], via his friend, Mr. [257].

Present: Edgar Cayce; Gertrude Cayce, Conductor; Gladys Davis, Steno. Mr. [437] and Mr. [257], and L. B. Cayce.

TEXT

1. GC: You will have before you the body and enquiring mind of [437], present in this room, in regard to his mental and material affairs, business associates, associations and relations. You will answer the questions which will be asked concerning these, and this entity, [437].
2. EC: Yes, we have the body, the enquiring mind, [437], present in this room, and his associations and relations.
3. In the physical forces we find the body is very good in most respects. There are some warnings that it would be well for the body to heed, that have been given in part, and in part are heeded; these respecting the taxation of the mental and physical forces to an excess.
4. In keeping the body more physically fit, it would be well for the body to have that as may be termed a general physical work-out, occasionally, to bring that vitality and vivacity to the physical functions, as to make for a much better ABILITY to use the talents of the body.
5. Ready for questions.
6. (Q) What is the best way to accomplish this work-out physically?
   (A) Such as any good thorough gymnastic, with the sweat and rubs as come with same.
7. (Q) Would Reilly be one to go to? [Dr. Harold J. Reilly, Ph.T.]
   (A) Be very well for such as this which is being suggested or given, for there needs be that the nerve and physical force, while under the strain, have those periods of relaxation. [2/24/32 See 437-4, next rdg. on health.]
8. (Q) Advise whether relations with the following individuals should continue, and whether they will develop favorably, as I name them: First, Herbert J. Yates:
   (A) The associations here would be well to be continued, and - as we find - will work out to satisfactory ways and means of those developments that are contemplated through this association.
9. (Q) Walter F. Wanger:
   (A) Here, too, we find - while there have been some differences of opinions in many ways - these have always been worked out in a way satisfactory and agreeable. At times there have been some flarebacks in this association, but well that these be kept (for the whole interest of all concerned) much in the manner that is contemplated as respecting this.
10. (Q) Harry M. Warner:
    (A) A satisfactory association in EVERY respect, so far as personal - or as the relations as one to another. Well that these BE kept in the same way and manner.
11. (Q) Richard A. Rowland:
    (A) Different circumstances, different SURROUNDINGS - or of opinions - have made many of the associations or contacts BETWEEN the individuals here, of often questions; yet these, too, are well - for associations of others, rather than of the INDIVIDUAL ITSELF! for through these associations and contacts have been some most satisfactory conditions brought about, while those with the INDIVIDUAL were not as amiable as they might have been! These, as we find, in the present, well to be kept, at least in the greater part - but differences may arise later on that may make for closer relationships, or there may be differences as to SEPARATIONS of ideas - with other individuals, or associates.
12. (Q) Louis B. Mayer:
    (A) Man of his own head, and often disagreeing with the activities of the body and the associations, yet a most FAVORABLE association for the body - as well as for associations of others whom the body represents, or the body deals WITH. Well that this be not only kept, but cultivated in MANY ways and manners; for the changes that must necessarily come, in some of the changes that are arising in the undertakings of the associations, will be well handled by or through this body and its associates.
13. (Q) What is the future of the Setay Co., Inc.?
    (A) As we find, there are some conditions that have been - as it were - in the balance, as to the future of this corporation's activities; yet with the turn as we find affairs SHOULD take, with these developments - and these DIFFERENCES out of the way - should bring for a most satisfactory way of the development, and for the future of the corporation.
14. (Q) What is the future of the Metropolitan Oil Royalty Corp?
    (A) There are some individual associations that the future of this corporation depends a great deal upon, that are not altogether in the proper position or way in the present. These, as we find, MUST of necessity be re-organized, or some changes made, for the PROPER development that is deserved by the purpose and policies of this corporation. With these changes, or these brought in the proper connection, and proper valuations taken of individual's abilities, or the individual's activities, will make for a much better, or much different condition. This, to be sure, is general - but it's rather specific in some instances!
15. (Q) What business am I, [437], best suited for?
    (A) In the developments of the abilities and the talents of the entity, there are some very personal qualifications (and faults) that have been apparent in the body's mental and physical training. The ability to make for cooperation of individual activities, where the body itself is sure - or feels sure OF the ability and the SINCERITY of individuals. Where there becomes a questioning, the body is (as it recognizes) an awful enemy to one he has lost faith with, or who has proven faithless to the body's own activities, or the body's confidence. Hence this has made at times some very sudden decisions on the part of others, where were they to have been considered somewhat LONGER would have made a great deal of difference in the body's development - in some particular lines.
    As is indicated, then, any position where the body is the representative of any specific interests that have to do with peoples and peoples' activities, is the character of work - or labors - for which the body is BEST fitted. As in a REPRESENTATIVE of combined interests in dealing with peoples in a direct way or manner, whether as from a purely commercial sales or of purely commercial dealings with individual activities, or whether of dealing with the activities that are to influence peoples' lives - AND things - see? Then, in these lines are the best developments, and the best activities for the body, [437].
16. (Q) Should I make any change in present business arrangement with Paramount Publix Corp?
    (A) We would not see the necessity for the change, save as may be effected by some INTERESTS that have been questioning in their arrangements. These would be rather that the body would have more authority, or more RESPONSIBILITY with some of these changes - but we would not change them from their present status, at the immediate present time.
17. (Q) What can I do to make present conditions more secure?
    (A) There are, as indicated, individuals with the corporation, that policies or activities are the more necessary for the development - or the changed policies, as is recognized by the body itself, as well as other members - of changes that are coming. Then, be with those changes. Don't be too much of the stand backer, but rather the stand patter with those that see the change necessary.
18. (Q) What should I do, if anything, to make closer relation and understanding with John Hertz, Chairman of Finance Committee of Paramount?
    (A) As we find, there is not the particular necessity of any change being made in the present status. While questions may have arisen that have made for seemingly little differences, yet the abilities of each are recognized; not merely pat each OTHER on the back - but be SINCERE with the recognition of the abilities, and give and take! Remember those faults as have been outlined, and as the body or self has curbed same in many directions - then keep those in the same channel as has been determined by self, as has been manifested by self - and better will be the results.
19. (Q) If changes are coming in 1932, how best for me to prepare for them, and what should I do now?
    (A) Rather that the changes, as indicated, are along the lines in which there have been rumors and more rumors. These, as has been outlined, well that those individuals - and WITH those individuals - make for those tendencies of the policies to come in the directions as being planned BY self, or that has been SUGGESTED by self - or as seen necessary by self, with the others. Then we find these will come for the better conditions.
20. (Q) Will Paramount Publix Corp. present set-up carry on, as I now know it?
    (A) Will, as the body now knows it.
21. (Q) Will present set-up CONTINUE, as I know it now?
    (A) Continue as now knows it, save with very minor change.
22. (Q) Should I interest myself and associates in the Pittsburgh Chemical Corp., of N.Y., as discussed by [257], present in this room?
    (A) Are the CONDITIONS that surround the Pittsburgh Chemical set in the proper LIGHT, or POSITION, would be well. As set in the present, UNTIL it is all ironed out, we would not!
23. (Q) If so, how should I become interested?
    (A) Not until there are some changes in the present CONDITIONS as surround same. Let them - that is, the propositions in the Pittsburgh Chemical - be more DEFINITE, on a more sound BASIS; for while the products - and the ABILITIES of those associated - are well, some policies are not well to tie into!
24. (Q) Will the Forces be more specific in the policies to be changed?
    (A) That there be more CONSIDERATION given each and everyone concerned, with the manufacture and distributing to individuals, rather than so much concern of those of the higher-ups receiving what comes out of it!
25. (Q) Should I consider going with Warner Bros. Picture Corp., or remaining with Paramount for my most successful future, and peace of mind?
    (A) As we find, the more successful - and the better peace of mind (unless there are some radical changes that are not apparent in the present) - in the present arrangements, and present associations, would be the best to maintain. While there may be a COORDINATING of the efforts of the various concerns, or Warner Brothers and Paramount - or Mayer-Paramount, and the like - these, as we find, coordinate best - so far as the entity is concerned, or body, in its PRESENT ASSOCIATIONS.
26. (Q) Is there a possibility of a merger between Warner and Paramount?
    (A) And Mayer? Yes.
27. (Q) What development awaits me mentally and spiritually from the association with the psychic work of Edgar Cayce?
    (A) This may be BEST approached from that of what the association HAS BEEN, and as to how MUCH interest the self may evince IN such operations, or investigations; for psychic, to be sure, is as of a questioning quantity by many, yet SINCERITY by all will BRING to seekers THAT they seek, if these in such associations are also sincere. This may best be approached, however, through the ENTITY relationships; for that it is not only the TREND of the mind in such matters, as a whole, is apparent to the body. The body itself is in that developing point where an interest IN same may be made helpful, morally, mentally, spiritually, financially.
