(Q) Would massage of lower limbs at Reilly's be advisable?
(A) This would be beneficial to the body, provided this is
not done too heavily; that is, as to cause the disturbances
that arise at times with everyone under such conditions,
causing the nerves and muscles about the sciatic center to
become too full, and thus giving a tendency towards varicose
veins - where there is long standing, or when the body stands
on feet or exercises so heavily as this body does at times.
This done properly, but lightly, would be very good; VERY
relaxing to the body, but we need as much attention to the
feet as to the limbs or more to the feet and ankles.
(Q) Does the homogenized Vitamin D milk have greater
advantages or disadvantages for this body during pregnancy?
(A) It's advantageous.
(Q) How much should be taken?
(A) That to satisfy the body's appetite.
(Q) Is there no possibility that the milk will produce
dangerous fat making delivery difficult?
(A) Not if other conditions, that have been indicated for
the body, are kept intact.
(Q) Would milk have the tendency to make the baby larger
which in turn would make a caesarean necessary for this body?
(A) Not necessarily.
(Q) Is there any way to keep down the size of the baby
without causing any detrimental effects on either mother or
child?
(A) Who knows how to create the body better, the Creator or
the man?
(Q) Would the exercise of rolling and slapping the hips and
thighs be safe and wise to continue?
(A) Gradually leave them off as time grows nearer. Not
after the seventh month should this be done to any great
extent.
(Q) Would there be any special exercises to increase spread
of hips?
(A) The stooping exercises are the better.
(Q) Has lack of setting-up exercises in last months been
detrimental to the body?
(A) Whenever something is begun and then left off, it
becomes detrimental - that should have been kept up!
(Q) Am I eating too much of any fattening foods?
(A) Not as we find; only that which gratifies the appetite.
But keep in that way that has been outlined by the physician.
[See
457-13, Par. 7-A.]
(Q) Is increase in weight in the first months due to any
unnatural accumulation of fluids?
(A) Not as we find.
(Q) Is diet otherwise satisfactory including all minerals
and vitamins for best development of child and good health of
mother?
(A) As indicated, that OUTLINED is very satisfactory. The
body doesn't always keep close to that!
(Q) Would it be advisable to take lime water once or twice a
day?
(A) Once or twice a week would be preferable - about an
ounce.
(Q) Should any concentrated vitamins in capsule form or
otherwise be taken?
(A) Save Calcios; that would be beneficial, but under the
existent conditions, and the amount of diet and fat that has
been taken, this is fairly well taken care of. Calcios,
though, taken about once a week for the body, keeping it up
until the last month, would be well.
(Q) Should cod liver oil or halibut liver oil be taken in
capsules or some other form?
(A) NO!
(Q) Is body eating too much meat?
(A) Just as indicated - if you will stick closely to the
diet that has been outlined by the physician, it'll be
better.
(Q) Should any foods be eliminated to reduce gases in body?
(A) The meats cause the most!
(Q) Should drinking of grape juice be continued?
(A) For another month, yes.
(Q) Do raw fruits and vegetables have any detrimental effect
at present?
(A) Not until another six weeks, and then they would be
detrimental.
(Q) What foods cause acid stomach with sour taste in mouth?
(A) It's the combination rather than foods.
(Q) What should be done to counteract it? Lemon juice in
water?
(A) Why take the foods? Keep in the regular routine that
has been set, and then this will not be necessary - to take
the lemon juice. Lemon juice in water is very good taken at
certain times, but - why cause the conditions to have to take
same?
(Q) Are waste products of both mother and child being
eliminated sufficiently?
(A) If they had been, we wouldn't have told you to take more
for eliminations!
(Q) Can douches of Glyco-Thymoline be continued for
leukorrhea?
(A) Can be taken.
(Q) May Lavoris be substituted if necessary with same
results?
(A) Not same results. It can be substituted if so desired,
but it won't be the same result - for they are not the same
combinations! There are conditions where they may be
interchangeable, but not for this.
(Q) Did the pills given body by Dr. Kellogg for the heart do
either good or harm?
(A) Didn't do very much harm, but didn't do very much good
either.
(Q) Is there any specific reason for the general unusual
well being of this body as far as pregnancy is concerned
during these five months?
(A) No.
(Q) Could other pregnant women benefit in same manner?
(A) We haven't other pregnant women at the present time.
This is not unusual. It is a condition that usually occurs
before childbirth; but each case is individual.
(Q) Is there anything body can do now to assure her being
able to nurse her baby?
(A) This will depend a great deal upon circumstances. We do
not find that it will be the better to nurse the baby - at
the present time.
(Q) In Reading of May 1942 [See
457-9, Par. 35-A] it was
stated that pliability of body should be accomplished by
treatments of a hydrotherapist as combined with osteopath.
Is this still correct and if so what kind of hydrotherapy
treatments should be given?
(A) This has been divided now. See, it is past those
periods. A relaxing by the osteopath would be the better in
the present. Not too much of any hydrotherapy in the
present, save the colonic irrigations and the douches as
indicated.
(Q) Was long protracted recent cold and cough due to any
failure on my part?
(A) Acidity.
(Q) Is sex of child determined only by mental and spiritual
attitude?
(A) AND from Creative Forces!
(Q) Why is it then that many who want a son bear daughters
instead, or the reverse?
(A) These are the sources from whence these COME! What is
the source? What do you desire? Who are you serving? These
must be answered in self.
(Q) Can no more definite information be given to mankind on
ways to predetermine the sex of a desired child?
(A) We haven't mankind! We are through with this Reading.

BACKGROUND

9/03/42 and subsequent Reports.
4/30/43 She submitted questions: "Have been feeling fine as
far as the baby is concerned or I would have had a rdg.
earlier. Just had an unusually long cold a few wks. ago but
it seems that such colds were pretty common around here.
Right now I have something wrong with my right arm which is
not particularly pleasant, but I don't think that has
anything to do with the baby either. Hardly know he's there
up to now. Expect he'll start kicking around soon, however."
5/06/43 "The osteopath says the pain in my right arm is
neuralgia and it might be worse...you'd think going to the
osteopath twice a wk. for a couple of yrs. would have
prevented it."
5/23/43 She submitted other questions.
