This psychic reading given by Edgar Cayce at his office, 115 West 35th Street, Virginia Beach, Va., this 29th day of July, 1929, in accordance with request made by self - Capt. [462], via Mrs. [69].

TEXT

1. EC: Yes, we have the entity and those relations between the universe and universal forces, as are latent and exhibited in the present entity's experience. In entering, we find the entity coming under the influences of Neptune, Uranus, Mercury, and Venus, with changes or exceptions through Mars and Jupiter. In giving this entity's relationships, we will find variations between that as would be astrologically speaking and that as has been builded in the experiences of the entity. In the present experience, irrespective of will, we would also find changes; for while influences as have come in the present experience have changed the environmentals for the entity, much of this has been brought about by the application of will's influence, that making an entity equal with the creative energies, as may make for an entity the haven or the lost. In the applying, then, of will, does the development through earth's experience come to an entity. In this one, [462], we find these as influences, and will's application to same:
2. One that the influence in Neptune has brought, and brings, much of the mystic and the understandable things of symbols, signs, days, years, numbers. These to the entity mean and influence much.
3. In that of the over zealousness in any of the influences that make for either very good or very bad, or those that come under such influence, brings that of exceptional abilities of the entity in some respects, and so not understandable to others.
4. The entity, then, is one that may be considered by many as too over zealous or not zealous enough; too lax and again too stern; too applicable to influences and again not other than headstrong.
5. One strong, then, of will, of mind, of self, in the abilities of self - or lacking in that to wholly put that as is attempted across, as would be slangly put. This to the entity becomes stumbling blocks at times; at others it gives the abilities that are above those of some that are plodders. The entity will never be a simple plodder, a simple satisfied individual. [It] May, through will's influence, be content - but never satisfied. This [is] the crown of development for the entity.
6. In the experiences in the earth's sphere and plane may be seen much of those that have changed the applications, and how these influence the entity in the present.
7. In the influences with Uranus, Neptune and Mercury, brings again the mathematical, the methodical mind; yet conflicting oft when these square with Mars, as has been seen in the influences in the present, and as may be seen in those that have brought to bear those elements that do bring change in the influence of the entity.
8. In that as is seen in Venus, the entity [is] very strong in likes and dislikes. A friendship to the entity is above that to many. A dislike is to be forgotten. An activity in those that would give the misunderstanding is as dross to the entity. The love of the mysticism and of the occult comes through that influence bourne in love and in reverence, as has been oft in the entity's experience - yet these come rather as reverential awe, than as a thing a portion of the entity. Made in self in this direction, much may be attained by this entity.
9. In appearances and their influences:
10. In the one before this we find in that land known as the Norse land. The entity then [was] in the name Odejla. The entity gained through that period when there was a turn toward the western shores, and the entity [was] among those who landed in the western lands, that is now England, and the entity gained through the experiences in being able to establish for self a thought for self and for others, under the rule of self's own acclamation of the individual surroundings. This the entity [was] able to do in the daring that was acquired through that period. In the present we find that of not being afraid when the entity is wholly in accord with what is being attempted; afraid, and fear, when not wholly in accord with that being attempted. Also that of the innate feeling for new fields of expression of self.
11. In the one before this we find in that land when the isles of Crete were being overrun. The entity [was] among those that defended the land against the folk from the hill. Then in the name Ulien. The entity gained and lost through this experience. In might there was power gained. In the ability to rule in fact came power that was turned into self-aggrandizement, and the entity lost, even in the punishment and in the banishment. Only that of discontent ruled the latter part of that experience. In the present the influence [is] that of dislike of prison, or prison walls, for oft they to the entity mean the belittling of the inner man.
12. In the one before this we find in that land now known as the Egyptian. The entity [was] in that period when the divisions came after the conquering of the peoples. The entity [was] of the natives that were subdued by the peoples of the north land, yet broken in body - not broken in spirit, and the spirit of rebellion remained with the entity until the rebellion arose at the time of divisions in that known as church and state. The entity, joining with this rebellion, lost through the submerging of self in that period; yet in the latter days gained much of an understanding that remains well into the innate and deeper self in the present. In the name Arlea, and the NAME may still be found among those who AFTERWARD rose to power in that land.
13. In the one before this we find in that land now in which the entity resides, then in the uplands of the western portion. The entity gained in power, in might, by the valor of the man, becoming a ruler in that land and among those who received the report of the five nations that gathered during that period, and in power gave much to the peoples; yet becoming tyrannical in the latter days. Losing in this portion of experience. In the name Uulue. In the present, this land has oft called to the entity, and especially those of historical and such kindred subjects are the CALL from this period's meditation.
14. In the application, then, of self and the abilities of self - these, as seen, come through their experiences of much of a contradictory nature, in what would be termed those of either the study, environmental or of hereditary. Hereditarily, the internal or soul finds combative conditions. Through the functioning of that of coalitions as experienced by entity, much has been gained, much may be attained. When the entity has seen that service and laudation do not go hand in hand, or that self exalted does not bring power nor satisfaction, nor gain the real content - yet in service to others and in the ability to give and render service does come content to self. In the chartering, then, of the way for others along those lines of the application in symbol, in sign, may the entity give to others much; as a writer, a speaker [See 462-1, Par. R7] - and in the labors of the day be faithful to those under same. In this may the entity gain much. Ready for questions.
15. (Q) What is he best fitted to do in this life?
    (A) As given.
16. (Q) Where shall he begin?
    (A) Where he is!
17. (Q) With whom shall he communicate?
    (A) With himself! First find self, to be able to give to others. In this may all find that applicable, even as in this entity's experience - that in the understanding of self, self's influence, self's environment, self's heritage through its experience in the earth's plane, may one understand the laws, the rules, the regulations, the governed, the love of this experience - and in understanding of self and self's relation TO same may one apply that to the lives of others. As a writer, [See 462-1, Par. R1] this entity may gain much of its own experience into mysticism, to occult influences and forces. Begin, for much is to be accomplished. We are through for the present.
