This psychic reading given by Edgar Cayce at his home on Arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Va., this 5th day of November, 1935, in accordance with request made by the self - Capt. [462], Active Member of the Ass'n for Research & Enlightenment, Inc.

Present: Edgar Cayce; Gertrude Cayce, Conductor; Gladys Davis, Steno. Capt. [462] and Mrs. [404], and L. B. Cayce.

TEXT

1. GC: You will have before you the body and enquiring mind of [462], present in this room; especially in relation to his carrying out the advice given him through this channel on July 8th, and again on Sept. 18th, 1935, regarding work in Norfolk and vicinity. You will please give definite information now as to just what to do in order to make connections for profitable work now, also give names of firms or individuals seeking specific men for specific work in specific channels.
2. EC: Yes, we have the body, the enquiring mind, [462], present in this room, and the information that has been given respecting associations of the body in Norfolk and vicinity.
3. As indicated, we find there are channels that may be opened for the body. While those conditions that have been given respecting connections with towing companies or shipping companies have not apparently in the present made any impressions, we find that there are many channels still open - if there is the definite choice made by the entity.
4. As we have indicated, in any association or connection that deals with ships or shipping, or activities as in towing or in piloting, or fishing, or in ANY that deals with water and its activities or associations, WOULD be the specific channels or manners for activities of the entity. Whether these were made in connections with others or for an activity of self in these connections, these would - if there is the start made - make for the opening of channels.
5. As WE find, those as related to towing, as of the Wood Towing Company, as shipbuilding and its connections, as with Curtis or those affiliated activities, or Consolvo and those associated, or those activities of various OIL organizations. ALL offer the channel through which there may be associations or connections made.
6. Or there may be the associations with fishing organizations or activities in the present vicinity.
7. To which? Choose that one - and GO TO WORK!
8. Ready for questions.
9. (Q) Have been through South Norfolk and Portsmouth and cannot find the activities mentioned there. Will you explain?
   (A) As we find, these are existent associations, in associations or connections with what we have indicated.
10. (Q) Activity on the waterfront in these lines mentioned is very slow. Where would there be an opening for me?
    (A) As indicated and as we find, with the Wood Company or with the oil organizations, or with Curtis or with the fishing organizations. These on the waterfront or in associations or helpful activities with the piloting crews. These may be made also a connection that comes under the head, as we find, of the work that has had its associations with government activities.
11. (Q) It is imperative that I get employment now. How soon or when can this be done?
    (A) As we find, we would choose among those that have been indicated. Go to those in authority and begin work, irrespective of whether there is to be on as regular or what! And these will open! For the abilities of the entity will make for himself an activity in WHATEVER one of these actions or activities is chosen!
12. (Q) Is may attitude and effort right toward my making connections at this time?
    (A) Right, if the attitude is kept properly. But an imperative attitude and a demanding attitude do not become coordinant. But the attitude should be; choosing the channel or the activity or the association, and then begin activities!
13. (Q) What affirmation should I use to help coordinate myself and the Forces to obtain my desire?
    (A) LET MY DESIRE AND MY NEEDS BE IN THY HANDS, THOU MAKER, CREATOR OF THE UNIVERSE AND ALL THE FORCES AND POWERS THEREIN! AND MAY I CONFORM MY ATTITUDE, MY PURPOSE, MY DESIRE, TO THAT THOU HAST AS AN ACTIVITY FOR ME. And leave it with Him, and go to work!
14. (Q) What is my best time for meditation?
    (A) As would be for all, two to three o'clock in the morning is the best time.
15. (Q) Any other suitable time?
    (A) ANY time. For how has the injunction been? "Constant in prayer." This is rather then that the whole attitude be kept in that attitude ever of a thankfulness. And leave it with Him. And go to personal or physical activity in some given direction.
16. (Q) If I should start out for myself, whom should I contact for financial assistance?
    (A) Any of those that have been indicated that have affiliation or association with activities in the fields that are chosen. Or, there may be the direct approach - if the choice is made for self's activity - to those institutions through which such help may be obtained; that is, those that are the regular channels for such activities.
17. (Q) Where will I find a suitable boat? Is the boat that Mr. Dew was telling me about a good one, and would he be a good partner? Should we go up there together and bring her down?
    (A) (Pause) We don't get the association or connection. (Pause)
    GC: Mr. Dew is with the Moon Engineering Co., Norfolk.
    EC: (Pause) This, as we find, is very much worth considering. While there would be some work to be done in making it seaworthy, this - as we find would prove a good, an EXCELLENT association and connection. We would do it!
18. (Q) If we should go into this thing together would we be successful and make a good living for out families?
    (A) Make a good living, and more.
19. (Q) Is there anyone in Washington, D. C., who could and would help me?
    (A) Any of those in the departmental influences that have been in close association with the activities of the entity, would be of help.
    This that has just been suggested, though, we would consider - with Dew.
20. (Q) What is my lucky number in three digits?
    (A) Three three nine (339).
21. (Q) Should I play the numbers for financial help?
    (A) No.
22. (Q) Is the money that was left in England in 1870 to my grandfather, James Joyce, still there and what is the amount now in dollars and cents?
    (A) From the list as we find here of such, this has been checked off in 1898. There's some disposition been made of this.
23. (Q) What is my seal?
    (A) (Pause - "[462] - Egypt" - etc., etc.) No, we don't have it from here. Only have a portion of same.
24. (Q) Please give any other advice, mental, spiritual or material, that would be of help to me at this time.
    (A) RATHER this: Do not lose hold on self. Hold fast to the faith as thou hast had implanted IN thee through thine developments in activities in the earth. And these set in motion for manifestations in the material things will clarify in the mental self and keep the outlook clear.
25. (Q) What can I do to help my son, [1450]? [See 1450-1, Par. R1.]
    (A) Just counsel with him in his outbursts of activity; do not curb his actions in definite forms of activity in woodworking or wood activities, for these present channels through which the developments may come to the body.
