10/31/37 "[Husband] has not spoken to me for two wks. He
blames me for his foolishness. I was almost sick over it.
My heart acted up for a few days but I got over that quite a
bit and feel some better... Don't think, Mr. Cayce, that I
hold myself blameless in my trouble with him, for I don't.
I have been quite snappy and mean at times and very
unreasonable, and as I look back I see where I could have
done a whole lot better. So for that reason I am willing to
overlook a lot of things. I am still smarting. Although
[Husband] brought home a bag of candy to me Sat. night he
didn't hand it to me but laid it down on the couch beside me.
I had to laugh. I knew he would expect a handout, so I put
it on a plate and set it on the dining room table. He ate
his share. Us humans are queer folks after all. He is not
having anything to do with me just the same. Haw! haw!
haw!...
"I have had my plans all made out for a small place in the
country for years... I want to start some small fruits.
[Husband] wants goats and I want poultry... So I have
changed my mind and think I will have that rdg. after all.
Our neighborhood has changed so. So many renters that don't
care how their place looks, and in a way you can't blame
them..."
