This psychic reading given by Edgar Cayce at his home on Arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Va., this 11th day of May, 1935, in accordance with request made by the self - Miss [480], through active Membership of her mother, Mrs. [601].

TEXT

1. EC: Yes, we have the body here, [480].
2. As we find, there have been those relaxations through a nerve strain mentally and physically through which the body has recently passed, such as to cause - through the periods of menstruation - an overflow, or a too quick return with an extra or abnormal amount. This has come from the high nervous tension under which the body has been laboring.
3. To meet the immediate needs, we would massage the body - especially from the 9th and 10th dorsal area to the lower portion of the spine - with equal parts of Tincture of Myrrh and Olive Oil, HEATING the oil and adding the myrrh. This would prevent much of this disturbance.
4. Also as an effective reaction to prevent the irritation, we would STEAM those portions of the puba and the buttocks with a basin of hot water in which there would be put - to two gallons of water almost boiling - a tablespoonful of Essence of the Tincture of Tolu, or Essence of Tolu, with the same quantity of Compound Tincture of Benzoin. This should be done about once or twice in two or three days. Remain over same, stooping over same, with those portions of the body exposed - over the steam - for fifteen to twenty to thirty minutes.
5. We would have the gentle manipulations, but the relief will be brought most in the immediate by the massage with the Tincture of Myrrh and Olive Oil over those portions indicated.
6. Be sparing with the meals, but have those things that are body-building.
7. Leave off the Tonicine for the present.
8. We are through with this reading.

REPORTS

1. 5/15/35 Mother [601]'s ltr.: "Last wk. was a very mean one for [480]. She suffered headache for almost the entire wk. and finally decided to wire you for a ck. rdg., Sat. a.m. I know this coming month will be a strain on [480], as her final exams begin 6/3 through 6/12th. The work is doubly hard on her due to the haziness and we are doing all we can to help her through this trying period. It is not so far off and am patiently waiting until after her graduation when she will be able to relax completely at home. I am enclosing my contribution for May and appreciate all you have done for us. Should the diathermy be continued for [480]? She has been taking one tr. a wk. excepting during the period."
2. 5/23/35 Mother submitted questions for 480-18, saying:
   "[480]'s case cannot as yet be considered improved enough to warrant our wholehearted cooperation in the work of the organization (A.R.E.). Perhaps the strain of her school work has been a hindrance to her recovery. The haziness is still there. I do believe the diagnosis given in the first rdg. (480-3) is the cause of the trouble, but having carried out, as far as is humanly possible, all the suggestions as to medication, diet and osteopathic trs., she is still far from being normal. I appreciate whatever help you have been able to give and hope that the next few months will bring greater relief to [480], especially being relieved of the strain of her school work. I am hoping that the next rdg. will indicate a good report and help her to a more normal condition."
