5/10/38 Letter from EC to [
480]: "Thanks for yours of 7th
- also had letter from your Father [
619] yesterday [See
under
601-31 Reports] think it did me more good than any
letter ever received in my life - Think so much of him -
have a darn poor way of showing it I guess, but certainly
appreciate it more than ever tell any one.
"Just you keep reading the Bible - don't read it with the
idea that it is history and refers to some one else - but
know it is to you - and you will get a whole lot more out
of it - for just as Abraham is a character - also he is an
experience to each and every one of us - and represents the
faith we must have; and so it is with each of them - Yes,
you are right, possibly the reading did not warn you as to
what was happening - but would it have been easier - to have
known - possibly better to doubt the information - than to
have had the anguish of knowing you were helpless to do any
thing, I don't know.
"Sure your Mother Lives on - is near you, much nearer now
than she could ever be in the physical - I realize that
sounds like sentiment or foolishness but if you will just
keep reading that BOOK of Books you will come to the
experience as millions have - as I have, that it is true -
for Good is of God, God is eternal - then the Good that she
did, must, does live on and on, never dies, is as eternal
as God himself.
"Hope you are feeling well, and every thing is coming along
alright, hope [
633] is feeling fine also. All are fair here,
Gertrude had a bad spell but is feeling pretty good again,
the rest are well. Edgar Evans was home for Mother's day.
Hugh Lynn is in N.Y. Yes, Tommy House had a message from his
Dad, [See
5756-13] it might be done - feel it had better come
of its own accord - but you know will try for you, if you
wish - think it will when she is ready - that too, as I
understand the scripture - is of HIS making and should not
be disturbed until she wishes - or is sent by Him for your
assurance. Always glad to hear, love to each one of you,
ever the same." Edgar Cayce
