8/23/35 Letter from [
844] to EC: "...The reading was
received OK and many thanks for same, but so far [
486] has
not started anything. He is so stubborn I will have to let
him alone until he has another bad spell of boils. Just now
he is some better and will never do anything for himself
until the last straw.
"His uncle E. was that way. His mother and his Uncle [
1287]
and I guess it must be a family trait. He read the rdg.
through very carefully, though, and was anxious for it to
come, so I feel hopeful and think you are marvelous to tell
all those things to help people, and it is their own fault if
they do not get better."
9/07/35 Letter from [
844] to EC: "...[
486] has not started
your treatments yet and I fear he will not; but I have done
my best and I know you have. He is no better and is in a
terrible fix."
10/28/35 Letter from [
844] to EC: "...Enclosed you will find
$10.00 for the reading which you gave [
486] and I am sorry we
are so late sending it. He has never done anything that you
recommended and his stomach was worse last week than it has
ever been and he is taking soda all the time. He heard
something advertised over the Radio called Alka-Seltzer which
he is taking now. He went over to Nashville to see a skin
specialist twice (Dr. King) and his medicine helped the skin
trouble but made his stomach worse. He told [
486] that he
had Toxic poison..."
