1/20/34 GD's notes to facilitate following the rdg.
suggestions: Obtain the pure olive oil. Take a sip every
hour during the day, for a week to ten days.
For the osteopathic adjustments and manipulations, we would
recommend Dr. Frank Dobbins, 551 Fifth Avenue, New York City,
who has had experience with following the reading suggestions
and has gotten results by so doing. After getting started
he could tell just how often you should have such treatments,
for the first series. He might also, before the ADJUSTMENT
treatments, give you the Epsom Salts packs to relax the areas
that need adjusting. I will explain how to make these packs,
so that if you have severe pains in the extremities you may
use them at home to bring relief. Dissolve as much Epsom
Salts as possible in enough water to thoroughly saturate a
crash towel. Apply this as hot as possible to the parts
affected (where the pain is, when treating yourself; and on
the spine where adjustments are needed, when applied by the
osteopath). Cover with a dry crash towel to hold the heat.
Let it remain until cool. If not entirely easy, apply again.
The Epsom Salts water may be re-heated, but be sure to have
as much Epsom Salts in the water as will dissolve each time.
After the first series of osteopathic treatments you would
rest from them for two to three weeks, in the meantime taking
the Atomidine in the manner indicated. Atomidine is
manufactured by Schieffelin & Co., New York.
Then you would begin all over again with the treatments in
the order given.
The diet outline seems quite clear. This is only an outline,
and you are to change it as your condition changes and as you
find that you can switch to other things.
Don't hesitate to ask us about anything you do not
understand. We are only too glad to help in any way
possible.
Please let us hear from you as to how you get along. After
the first or second series of treatments, it might be well to
get a check-reading and see just how you are getting along -
and receive suggestions for any advisable changes in
treatment, or in the manner they are given.
(DIRECTIONS FOR MAKING PURE BEEF JUICE)
Put small chunks raw lean beef in covered fruit jar. Put jar
inside pan of water (water coming to about half the depth of
jar). Boil until chunks of beef are thoroughly done.
Strain. Keep juice in cool place. Take as directed.
2/21/34 Dr. Frank P. Dobbins' letter: "Mrs. [
492] had a
marked reaction following the second treatment. The pain
that was in the hands started to go up the arms and from a
condition of chronic constipation there was a diarrhea. We
feel quite encouraged as it is very hard to stir up the
chronic condition that she has had for years. She is
sleeping much better and is quite free from pain."
4/25/34 Mr. [
440]'s letter: "Mother [
443] says you were all
off on Mrs. [
492]. I told her she should get the full
details from Mrs. [
492] and write you, giving you an
opportunity to take a ck. rdg. and then she might be in a
position to give you some intelligent criticism. Ladies,
especially old and unoccupied ladies, have the habit of
letting doctors make up their mind for them and I do not
doubt but that this is what happened in Mrs. [
492]'s case."
5/01/34 EC wrote Mrs. [
492] inquiring about her health.
5/17/34 Dr. Dobbins' letter: "Mrs. [
492] took 10 treatments
and then discontinued. She then started taking the
Atomidine; came back and took 7 treatments more and then
decided to stop all treatment and go back to Dr. Burbank
[Reginald Burbank, M.D.?]. I do not feel that she gave
either of us a fair chance and told her so. She was a
patient of Dr. Burbank's for some 10 years and in that time
was getting no help. She came to us about 6 wks. and got
help yet was not pleased with the results."
5/29/34 Mrs. [
492]'s letter: "You very kindly wrote and
asked how I was getting on, following the tr. you gave during
my Health Rdg. I regret to say that it was not a success. A
serious attack of arthritis in my knees where I had never had
it before made it necessary to go back to my former
physician, whom I had not consulted for three yrs., and now
it is almost entirely cured.
"Thanking you and with every good wish for your continued
success, I am" Very Sincerely yours, Mrs. [
492]
5/31/34 EC's letter: "Many thanks for yours of the 29th.
I'm sorry indeed to know that you had an attack of arthritis,
but happy to know that you have been relieved - trust you
will continue to be on the improve.
"We have had through the years quite a number of cases where
there have been suggestions for the eliminating of this
troublesome disorder from the system. Those who have
systematically and conscientiously followed the suggestions
made have received the results promised.
"Know that we will always be glad to try and be of a service
whenever we can.
"Appreciating your report, and trusting we may in some way or
manner be of a service, I am..."
