6/18/39 Daughter-in-law, Mrs. [
457]'s letter to GD:
"Could you possibly arrange immediately for a check physical
for my mother-in-law? I have been wanting to write you for
some time but I knew you would be busy with the congress and
I have been busy too.
"However the point is that it seems necessary to operate on
her in order to sew up the prolapsed organs. I want to make
sure that we are doing the right thing, and that she is in a
condition to stand it.
"She wants to have the operation arranged this coming week
so would appreciate a reading just as soon as you get this
letter if at all possible. Wire me collect if you can
arrange it. At the office.
1) Is operation advisable to bring organs in more normal
position? If so:
2) Is the Lenox Hill hospital satisfactory for this purpose?
3) Can body's heart stand the operation? (Anything we should
do to strengthen it?) If they give her digitalis will that
do any harm?
4) Should osteopathic treatment be given before operation?
5) Has body carried out instructions of last reading
satisfactorily?
6) If not where has body failed?
7) Why is it that every time body puts on vaginal support
held with rubber straps inflammation is caused?
8) Why is it that when body first wore this support she had
no trouble?
9) Is there anything body can do to relieve hay fever?
Adjustments? Inhalants?
10) Is there anything body can do for the tired-out feeling?
What do you call that lassitude? exhaustion?
11) After operation would body be better able to walk?
Should any other exercise be taken?
The point is that in the last reading Cayce told her to
walk. But she couldn't very well in her condition because
she couldn't stand wearing that support. Even after the
inflammation disappeared which she had last time she couldn't
wear the support. She did apply the treatment of D.D.D. and
the skin condition improved. But every time she put on the
support the inflammation would return. The funny part of it
is that when she first got it she was perfectly comfortable
with it. So much so that she thought things were more in
normal position and left off the support. When she wanted
to start wearing it again the trouble started. Now the
inflammation is gone but things just aren't right, I mean
all the organs have fallen it seems.
