10/08/41 Mrs. [
457]'s letter:
"We want to thank you first for having given [
412]'s Mother
her reading so promptly, without even waiting to check up
the address a second time. Of course at the time there was
no possibility for her being any place else. I appreciated
that very much.
"As for the results I cannot report because she hardly
permitted me to start. It was very hot at that time and
the thought of the hot oil packs seemed to go against her.
At the same time she had of her own accord found a German
doctor who told her that her blood pressure was too high, he
started already then to give her pills to reduce this and at
that time also some other pills to kill the pain of the rash
on the abdomen and back. He did tell her however that it was
only a matter of time for the rash to go of its own accord.
There was nothing he could do for it. It did go eventually,
and she is still taking the pills for the blood pressure.
"Personally I of course do not believe in pills. But she
seems to have faith in the doctor, and of course it is more
convenient than oil packs. Of course I do not know what
effect the pills will have. If I could only tell her ahead
of time so that she should watch out for the effects and thus
lose her faith in them, then I might get her to follow the
readings again."
9/29/43 Son [
412]'s letter: My mother has not been feeling
especially well. Her blood pressure has run up occasionally
quite a bit and we were fortunate to be recommended to an
osteopath in Yonkers [Harold C. West, D.O.] who seems to be
a very good connection. Off hand speaking he is better than
anyone I have ever been to and I have been treated by quite
a number of them. The good part about this man is that my
mother likes him very much and he has taken an interest in
her case.
After two treatments she is feeling very much better and
I sincerely hope that he will help her. He analyzed her
condition as not being any heart trouble but coming from
the stomach. The reading however showed that the trouble
was in the bladder. Just as soon as I get a little bit
more acquainted with him I will turn the reading over to
him and ask him to follow your instructions. My mother is
supposed to get a colonic today which I think will do her a
world of good.
