Evenings - this would be the meal when meats would be taken,
and such would include not all of these at once but altering
between: Calves' liver, fish, shell fish or sea foods of any
character. Fowl, lamb, any of these may be taken. Also pig
knuckle, tripe and the like may be included from time to
time. No fried foods of ANY kind, not even cakes that are
fried. But vegetables at this meal may include any of those
that are well-cooked in their OWN sauce, or their own liquid,
not adding waters nor seasoning until after they are cooked.
And have three that grow ABOVE the ground to one that grows
below the ground, but may include the tops and the roots of
such; as fresh Irish potatoes, or turnips, or carrots, or
beets, or the like, WHEN such below the ground are prepared.
Not at all times, but that the vitamin forces of these may
carry the necessary elements for creating a balance in the
system that has long been lacking in sufficient of the
phosphorus, silicon, iron and iodine. Hence all the
vegetables that carry these properties should be included in
the meals from day to day; for they are more easily
assimilated by the body or system from vegetable matter than
from any other source or character. And do not use great
amount of high seasoning in any of the foods.
Keep the body developing in strength, in vitality, normally;
sufficient activity at all times after each meal for the
normal balance in using the energies of the body at all
times, physically and mentally.
There should be also taken, as an internal reaction to
those portions of the system that are affected in the nerve
pressures, properties prepared in this manner - that may be
prepared in quantities and a small quantity at a time also:
Take sufficient Maypop (this includes the vine, the fruit,
the flower of same; preferably of that which is seasoned)
that when it is reduced by simmering the specific gravity of
same is six and a half, see? This is preferably made with
distilled water, and would be about the proportion of one
gallon of the dried vine or vegetable to two gallons of
water, see? and reduce until by specific gravity or
hydrometer test it is six to six and a half. So, if it is
reduced to where the gravity is much higher, simply add water
to make same; or if lower, simply boil longer to produce
same.
After cooling, add sufficient grain alcohol to make a
preservative for same, which will be about the proportion of
two and one-half ounces to each sixteen ounces of the
solution.
The dose of this would be a teaspoonful after each meal and
before retiring at night.
Each day when ready for retiring, we would also have a gentle
massage all over the body, ESPECIALLY in the area of the
lacteal ducts and the liver and the gall ducts, in the caecum
area and in the colon area; and, to be sure, all along the
cerebro-spinal system. Begin in the central portion of the
body and work downward. Then begin in the central portion
and work towards the head. See?
Also each morning after the body has had its breakfast or
first meal, and has rested sufficient for digestion to take
place, we would also have the MAGNETIC treatment.
Placing a body sitting on the left side of the patient, as it
lies prone, place the right hand over the adrenal area - or
about the 9th and 10th dorsal area; and the left hand over
the lacteal duct area, or in the region of the umbilicii but
to the right side of same - or just about where the ducts
from the liver and the jejunum are acting with the juices of
the secretion from the pancrean area. See? This is after
there has been the activity of the duodenum and from the
gastric forces in the stomach AND the duodenum. This should
be for at least fifteen minutes, each day.
Do this. Be persistent, be consistent in all things. We
will bring a better, a nearer normal condition for the body.
At first there may be a repulsion, after the first four or
five treatments, by nausea from the conditions that will be
created in the system. In these periods keep the bowels
free, if necessitating to resort to enemas, and these will
soon disappear.
Give at varied periods quantities of olive oil, but in VERY
small doses. It may be given a quarter of a teaspoonful, or
from ten to twelve drops, every two hours; for periods of two
or three or four days; then rest for a period of a week and
then begin again.
Do these things not as ROTE, but as following that which will
create in the system the proper balance.
The condition has been builded as a constitutional effect to
this body, and must be replaced or replenished by creating
the proper balance in not only the properties taken
internally but by the food values that may be absorbed
properly and the coordinating of all nerve centers that may
prevent incoordination between sympathetic and cerebro-spinal
system, and GIVE for the body proper reactions in the brain
reaction.
Ready for questions.
(Q) Is there a special one you would suggest to give the
magnetic treatment?
(A) Anyone that may be sincere, and that will be consistent
and persistent about same.
We are through for the present.

BACKGROUND
10/03/33 Sister's [registered nurse] letter: "He has suffered
all his life with some kind of nervous trouble. He has had
since early childhood some kind of spells which if they are
not epileptic fits are very similar to them. Up until about
2-3 yrs. ago he had never had one of these spells except at
night and they only occurred about once or twice a yr.
Recently he has become thin and very nervous. The spells
have become more frequent, and have occurred several times in
the daytime. As you probably know, medical doctors say that
there is no cure for epilepsy... I believe you will be able
to help him."
1/06/34 "Is it incurable? or if we follow the rdg. will he
be well?"
2/16/34 "Any particular diet? Plenty of rest, sunshine and
moderate exercise? Is the condition congenital or is it due
to a traumatic injury during early childhood?"
REPORTS
3/07/34 Sister's letter: "I rec'd the rdg. and although I
realize it is a serious condition I do feel hopeful of a very
big improvement. I'm carrying out the instructions as well
as I can with the exception of the Maypop. Dr. Nona Grapes
(N.D.) wrote to a firm in N.Y. that handles all sorts of
herbs, and they did not know of it at all." [GD's note: We
referred her to Eimer & Amend in N.Y.C. and to S.B. Penick &
Co., Asheville, N.C.]
9/25/34 "[
521] has not been well at all and I have been much
concerned about him. I want to tell you, though, that he did
not follow the instructions given in the rdg. for a very long
period of time. He might have improved more if he had
followed them faithfully. I hope he is going to be better
now.
"I hope the Association can continue its work of helping
unfortunate ones."
7/60 In Dr. W. N. Pahnke's survey of 96 cases of epilepsy
from the Edgar Cayce records he classifies Case [
521] in
group 2: "There is inadequate description of the case to
make a definite diagnosis but it may well have been epilepsy
from a birth injury."
