This psychic reading given by Edgar Cayce at his home on Arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Va., this 18th day of February, 1936, in accordance with request made by the self - through request verbally by Mrs. Helen Storey - through Study Group #3 of the Ass'n for Research & Enlightenment, Inc.

Present: Edgar Cayce; Gertrude Cayce, Conductor; Gladys Davis, Steno.

TEXT

1. EC: Yes, we have the body here, [533]; this we have had before.
2. In some respects conditions show changes. There are some indications of improvement, even since last we had same here.
3. As we find, in the main, the manipulations are being done properly; for there is a gradual breaking up of lesions - even though at the TIME there is caused a distress, and the mental reactions are not always good.
4. Then, we find that there is the need of other applications to aid the bodily functions to coordinate the better with these corrective forces, in not only the movements of segments and structural portions but the muscles and tendons through the torso portion of the system. Thus there may be allowed the creation of changes in the lymph circulation and lymph flow, as these corrections are made, that will bring further improvements.
5. Hence, we would keep the manipulative forces.
6. And we would use the Castor Oil Packs across not only the right portion, from the lower portion of the rib area to the caecum, but extend same also over the ilium plexus - or lower down in the central portion, and extending towards the left side of body also. We would have these packs each day, and SURELY on the days that the manipulative measures are to be given. These should be for at least an hour and a half. And even when the manipulative forces are not given (osteopathically), there should be a gentle massage - rotary motion - across the abdomen, following the packs.
7. We would use Zilatone Tablets as a stimuli for the draining of the gall duct area; stimulating activity through the liver as related to the duodenum; stimulating activities of the digestive forces - due to the quietude or lack of physical activity of the body. The first day we would take two tablets of morning, one in the afternoon. The next day we would take one in the morning, one in the afternoon. Then skip two days. Then take one in the morning, one in the afternoon. Drink plenty of water at all times, that there may be supply not only for the general system but to make for the flow through the system with these properties in same.
8. Keep up the rubs along the cerebrospinal system, using equal portions of Olive Oil and Tincture of Myrrh and Compound Tincture of Benzoin. Heat the Olive Oil to add the others. Extend the massage even to the lower limbs, and over the feet. Give same once or twice a week; not on the days when the manipulations are given, but otherwise. These will be found to be helpful.
9. In the matter of diet, we would keep close to the alkalin-reacting foods. Plenty of citrus fruit juices; plenty of the whole wheat as a cereal (though not at the same meals when the citrus fruit juices are used). Plenty of raw fresh vegetables; as cabbage, lettuce, celery, spinach, and those forms of roughage or green vegetables. These may be taken with oil or with mayonnaise. Such foods, with the general run, would be most beneficial.

11. (Q) On the days the manipulations are given, should the Oil Packs be before or after the treatments?
    (A) Before. And, as indicated, even on the days when the manipulations are not given, there should be a general massage after the body has been cleansed from the Oil Packs. A weak Soda solution will be found to be most beneficial for this cleansing.
12. (Q) What causes continued headaches?
    (A) The pressure of the lymph circulation upon those areas where there are the tendencies for sticking or adherence through the whole portion of the torso itself. There are tendencies for these to form into lymph tumors. Let's get away from this by the use of those things suggested.
13. (Q) What will relieve these headaches?
    (A) Do these as indicated. Taking sedatives and the like does NOT AID; it only produces a distressing condition. A gentle rub back of the head and along the spine is much preferable.
14. (Q) What is cause of gas in stomach?
    (A) The same; and that as indicated for the relief of same.
15. (Q) How soon should I be able to walk?
    (A) This depends upon the reaction to those applications for the aid of the body.
16. (Q) Do I still have adhesions?
    (A) There are still adhesions, at times; for these turn loose and then they adhere again, and then there's a creating of a pressure or the forming of tumorous forces - or ACCUMULATIONS, you see, in pockets or sacs.
    Do as we have indicated and, as we find, the greater help will come for this body.
