This Psychic Reading given by Edgar Cayce at his home on Arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Va., this 22nd day of September, 1937, in accordance with request made by the self - through telephone request by his sister, Mrs. [1129], Member of the Ass'n for Research & Enlightenment, Inc.

TEXT

1. EC: Yes, we have the desires and the purposes of the body, [533]; and those conditions that have been given as respecting same.
2. As we find, the body is much improved from that as we have had at times here before.
3. There are still weaknesses, however, and the inclinations for the reactions through the alimentary canal, with that slowing of activity which produces at times nausea, the inclination of slow activity in the gall duct area, as well as through that portion of the jejunum and colon and through the caecum area - especially where there have been lesions and tensions in the body.
4. As we find the activities of the body in the present are much better than for the body to remain idle, provided precautions are taken.
5. Do not attempt to swing heavy weights, cans, above the head, see? Lifting is not near so bad. Pushing is bad. But to stretch the body, with the hands above the head, with heavy weights, is NOT well for the body.
6. In the activities as we find for the better correction of the eliminations and for the overcoming of those tendencies for weaknesses and inclinations through the system:
7. Each evening with the meal, not separate, we would take about two teaspoonsful of the Blond Psyllium. To be sure, this should be put in hot water and allowed to jell. Eat WITH the meal.
8. Then about twice or three times a week we would have a thorough rub across the abdomen with an equal combination of Mutton Suet, Spirits of Turpentine and Spirits of Camphor. Massage gently into the body all the body will absorb, this especially in the right side, extending same from the caecum area to that above the liver.
9. Also we find that a tonic would be well for the body; as the White's Cod Liver Oil Tablets, two tablets taken each noon. At the time of the noon meal, take two tablets. Keep these up for three to four weeks, leave off for a week, and then take again. These properties are to make for the building in the system of resistances, building up the blood supply, with the body working in the open. This is well for the body.
10. Keep the feet dry.
11. Do not exercise with heavy weights, with the hands ABOVE the head.

13. (Q) Am I taking too many enemas?
    (A) With the taking of the Psyllium we will find this will not be necessary, the taking of the enemas so often. But if they are taken body-temperature (not guessed at, but body-temperature), they are not harmful; provided the saline and soda solution is used with same - as by the use of these we do not dry nor cause the activity of the peristaltic movement to be degenerated, but the use of these tends rather to regenerate.
14. (Q) Of what foods should I beware?
    (A) Fried foods.
15. (Q) What foods would be helpful to aid elimination for this body?
    (A) Figs, stewed or raw or the like. Raisins. The cheese if it is the Philadelphia or the American Cream; NOT roasted but raw. Any of the fruits and vegetables, but combine these as has been indicated in the evening meal - use the Psyllium.
16. (Q) Does my right side show improvement?
    (A) Considerable improvement, but use the rubs and the foods and the things indicated.
17. (Q) If suggestions are properly carried out, how soon before I should be well?
    (A) How soon will the body take the proper precautions not to do or overdo or undo those things given? These are rather in keeping with how well the body will progress, rather than how soon. How soon will the body keep in line with these is the better answer.
18. (Q) Any further advice?
    (A) Keep the mental attitude constructive. Know what you are about and do it with the will to be helpful to all.

   (4) Have the suggestions given in the Reading been followed exactly as outlined? As nearly as I was able.
   (5) For how long? Three years.
   (6) Describe the extent to which improvements have resulted? At first I got very much better - then I over worked and had a second relapse - now I feel very near normal.
