7/14/35 Mr. [
1212]'s letter:
Dear Mr. Cayce:
"Referring further to my letter of July 8th, in which I wrote
you that I would pass on information, received from Macon,
Mo. and Dr. Crile.
"1st - I am enclosing letters from A. G. Hildreth, D.O.,
one written to Mrs. [...] and the other to Dr. B. D. Turman,
I wrote you that Dr. Turman would write giving a history of
[
543]'s case, as she had taken treatment by Dr. Turman this
will explain to you fully, what has passed, the treatment
by Dr. Turman did not give her relief, however, I think
Dr. Turman did his LEVEL BEST for [
543], & and when I
requested him to write to Macon, Mo. he said he would gladly
do so, but discouraged our sending [
543] there, or to any
Osteopath, as the treatment would not in his opinion cure
[
543], therefore I feel that it would not be well to send
her to Macon, Mo. so let us abandon this. [See R11 below.]
"2nd - I am also enclosing you letter from Dr. Crile, which
explains his operation fully. The young lady I referred to
in my letter of July 8th told us as soon as she learned that
Dr. Crile specialized in the cure for epilepsy, she made
special enquiry, and was informed that Dr. Crile had been
performing these operations for about four years, with great
success, in fact said, she was told that he had always been
successful, cured every case.
"I desire you to give [
543] a reading, in the meantime we
are working to arrange for [
543] to go to Dr. Crile, with
the great success he has had I believe that you will agree
with me that this is for the best.
"[
543] may ask you for a reading if so please give it to her
as early as convenient to you. I do not think she would be
content to go to Dr. Crile unless you sanctioned it, hence
this letter.
"I am delighted to advise you that [
543] has been very well
since I wrote you last, of course she has attacks, but not
so often, and seems to be in better general condition, since
your reading eliminated 'May Blossom Bitters.'
"Please return me the enclosed letter, which I will ask you
to treat confidential, if [
543] does not write you for a
reading, please write her that I desired it, which you will
recall, I mentioned this in person, also wrote you in my
letter of July 8th.
"Thanking you for your kind interest, and for a prompt
reading."
Sincerely, [
1212]
7/16/35 Miss [
543]'s mother wrote thanking EC for "making
it possible" for [
543] to come to the Congress (evidently
he arranged an inexpensive place for her and Mr. [
1212] to
stay); she asked for a ck. rdg. but as usual, the same as
Mr. [
1212], wanted the rdg. to tell Miss [
543] to go to
Dr. Crile. The parents invariably told EC beforehand what
to say in the rdg.
7/18/35 EC's letter to Mr. [
1212]:
"I'm sure you remember that [
543]'s very first reading
suggested an operation [543-1], that this would be the most
successful way. And as I understand from Dr. Crile's letter,
his operation is very similar to the one suggested for [
543]
in the reading. I'm anxious to know just what will be said
in answer to that question through the reading.
"Know that we are very glad to do anything we can to be of
help. We all think a very great deal of [
543], and we are
certainly very anxious to be of some help to her."
7/17/35 Miss [
543] submitted questions.
7/23/35 See
543-24.
