This psychic reading given by Edgar Cayce at his home on Arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Va., this 20th day of March, 1936, in accordance with request made by the self - through his wife, Mrs. [639], Active Member of the Ass'n for Research & Enlightenment, Inc.

TEXT

1. EC: Yes, we have the body here, [550]; this we have had before.
2. As we find, while there are many changes in the physical forces of the body since last we had same here, some of the conditions have become in a manner acute; from the general building up of poisons due to the lack of proper eliminations through the proper channels of elimination.
3. And these poor eliminations tend to make for an acidity in the body that is of a disturbing nature. Not the character of acidity so much that comes from the character of FOOD as always taken, but the very nature of poor eliminations and inflammation in the circulation from the lack of the proper circulatory forces being assimilated or carried makes for specific conditions that become disturbing in extremities; as in the lower limbs, in the feet; as in the throat, nasal passages, and those tendencies for the mucous membranes of same to become inflamed.
4. These are the effects of poor distribution and assimilation throughout the body.
5. In meeting these conditions as we find in the present:
6. First we would begin with the neuropathic applications for the body, making the treatments to follow the nerve impulses from solar plexus center - or 9th dorsal downward to the extremities; then from the solar plexus upward - as TOWARDS the arms or OUT the arms from the brachial plexus or center. These we would take every day for periods of two weeks, and then rest from same a period; for in this manner they will be much more activative.
7. We would also use an inhalant to act as a tendency for preventing the activity of bacilli that produces reactions that become disturbing; or to act rather as a cleansing than as a curative agent for the nasal passages. Such an inhalant would be prepared in this way and manner:
8. To 4 ounces of Pure Grain Alcohol, or at least 85% to 90% alcohol - pure grain, in a 6 ounce container (preferably with a glass cork or stopper), add - in the order named:

   Oil of Eucalyptus.............10 minims,
Compound Tincture of Benzoin..20 minims,
Rectified Oil of Turp..........5 minims,
Canadian Balsam................5 minims (because
this turns the solution white at times, do
not become disturbed; for it will be
assimilated, when the solution is
shaken well),
Tolu in Solution..............30 minims.

   Shake the solution well when the fumes are to be inhaled, especially night and morning - or when there is the tendency for the sneezing or for irritation in the throat and in the head.
9. We find it would be well also to use the Radio-Active Appliance, for it would be helpful to the circulatory forces in making for the body's being able to rest and to overcome this tired condition that is so prevalent at times when there are these disturbances from poor eliminations. Keep the anodes of the Appliance clean, or polish well before being attached. And let the Appliance be in the ice solution for fifteen to twenty minutes before applying to the body; opposite extremities of the body. Keep same attached to the body from thirty to forty minutes each evening as the body is ready for retiring, or it may be kept on for an hour or an hour and a half - this is not too long. But do not make the applications as ROTE. Rather KNOW within self that the purposes for helpfulness are being accomplished.
10. Keep the diets tending towards an alkalin reaction, but body-building forces. And when starches are taken, do not take these with too great quantities of carbohydrates; neither take fats with too great a quantity of starches. These kept in the outline that has been indicated would be much preferable for the body.

REPORTS

1. 3/31/36 Wife [639]'s ltr.: "The Radio-Active Appliance arrived yesterday and we used it the first time last night. Mr. [550] is now well started with all prescribed in rdg. We are hoping we will be able to stick to it (financially), the only expense now being the neuropathic treatments, which come rather high, until the conditions now existing in his body are corrected. Will write you results in 2-3 wks."
2. 4/19/36 "Relative to Mr. [550] - we have used the Appliance every night since March 30th. Also took the treatment by osteopath for the first two weeks period and will begin on the second period of two weeks April 29th [Thomas G. Seay, D.O.?]. Have also used the prescription for inhaling each day - as per rdg. Mr. [550] is feeling better and feel in this short time it has done much good, but there is still much more improvement needed, which we presume will come as Mr. [550] responds to the treatments...
   "Mr. [550] took the apple diet the last time I did but the olive oil didn't make him sick as it did me... I presume it is alright to use the Appliance with Mr. [550] indefinitely. We apply it as directed, using the emery paper each time, every evening on retiring for one hr."
3. 5/06/36 EC's reply: "Yes, the Appliance is fine for anyone who is tired or who has any trouble with the circulation."
4. 7/17/36 Mr. [550] obtained 639-3 for his wife.
5. 7/25/36 He reported on his wife's rdg. and then said: Now as to myself. Am sure the Radio Active Appliance has been a wonderful thing for me, as was the two courses of osteopathic treatment I took. It is unfortunate we do not have an outstanding osteopath here, one in whom I can have confidence. The circulation in the left foot has practically been restored, the big toe is near normal position and when I get the benefits from my new appliances and shoes am sure I will be better in that direction than have been for some time. What the foot specialist is attempting to do, and he is accomplishing it, is to rather lengthen and narrow my feet and give them the proper support. This he said would take six months time and I would have to be very patient with him for in all his experience he had not had a more severe case. At first he said he could only try and could not guarantee. Now he is well pleased. Last week he spoke of the left foot, how the circulation was improved. I said Brownsey [Brown, foot specialist?] you don't know it but you have had help in this. I then told him of you and the Radio Appliance I am using. This caused him to ask many questions and I am sure from his attitude he agreed that he had had help other than what he was doing. While these appliances and shoes are causing me some pain, due to the fact that the shape of the feet are being changed, I am wearing them now all day. Can do this for much of my work is at the desk and that gives relief. He says most of the pains are now due to the fact that the thick skins of the soles of the feet don't want to conform to the change rapidly. That in time this will be accomplished.

8. 2/19/40 Wife [639]'s ltr.: "Mr. [550] has been ill the last 3 wks. I am very anxious to have a rdg. as to his condition and the remedy as given to you. Mr. [550] will be right at home for quite a while according to the Doctor. We now live at ..."
