This psychic reading given by Edgar Cayce at his home on Arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Virginia, this 19th day of May, 1934, in accordance with request made by the self - Mr. [554], Active Member of the Ass'n for Research & Enlightenment, Inc.

Present: Edgar Cayce; Gertrude Cayce, Conductor; Gladys Davis, Steno. Mildred Davis and L. B. Cayce.

Time and Place: 11:30 to 11:40 A. M. Eastern Standard Time. New York City.
(Body & enquiring mind, who seeks information, advice and guidance as to his physical, mental and material well-being. After giving such a reading, you will answer the questions he has submitted, as I ask them.)

TEXT

  1. EC: Yes, we have the body here, [554], the enquiring mind and the conditions physical and mental that disturb the body; this we have had before.
  2. In the general physical forces of the body we find there are some disturbing factors - [554], ..., New York City; he is on the floor, but is at his desk and just seated now.
  3. There are conditions physical and mental that have disturbed the body, and these disturbances in the mental attitude of associations are a contributory cause to the physical reactions.
  4. As we find, we would follow a period of correction for the physical conditions; else we are going to have some serious trouble!
  5. First, we would be mindful of the diet during the period. Do not overcrowd the body with food when it is upset mentally. This has been one of the contributory causes to the existent conditions, with the poor assimilations and the disturbance of the activities of the pancreas - as related to the duodenum and the bile duct activity; and has left poisons in the system, so that with the accumulations there has been a poor circulation to the upper portion of the body, making for the hindrances in the lymph circulation through the throat and head and some disturbance in the eyes and the sympathetic circulation through those portions of the sensory organism.
  6. Then, we would take into the system the AL-CAROID digestant properties after the meals, followed with the CAROID Bile Salts tablets.
  7. Also we would have six applications or adjustments osteopathically, with special reference to the upper dorsal and cervical area as related to the eyes.
  8. And we will bring better conditions for the physical forces of this body, [554].
  9. As to the activities related to the mental associations, we find there are disturbing forces in the associations that surround the body in the present; yet if there will be the particular application made in those fields of activity in which the body has lent itself in association with others, we will bring about better conditions. If there would be the attempt to form associations with the former connections, and in the line of endeavor in which the activities have been - while such would bring disorder for a time with some of those that are in the official capacity - the eventual activities would be the better for this body, [554].

  11. (Q) What causes, and what should be done to overcome, high blood pressure?
    (A) Relieving those pressures in the system as indicated, by the use of those properties to carry out the eliminations from the system and the manipulations osteopathically - especially in the areas indicated, will overcome the condition.
  12. (Q) How are my teeth and gums?
    (A) They need local attention.
  13. (Q) Regarding material affairs and my position at Stern Bros., are they planning a change, and should I try to locate elsewhere?
    (A) Combination. Locate elsewhere, as indicated; though following in the line of endeavor in which the activities of the body have been, and these will eventually be worked out - but we would make the change back to Lord & Taylor's.
  14. (Q) Is there something you can suggest that would better my condition in the business world?
    (A) As the adjustments are going on, it is well to hold that thou hast in hand in the present; but as changes come about - as indicated - we would make better connections and associations.

  2. 5/11/34 Letter from [554]: "...I have not been feeling well. The doctor called it neuralgia. I had terrific pains in the head and also had high blood pressure. However, I feel much better now. I believe the cause of my condition was worrying about conditions with my firm... Shall I try to get back to Lord & Taylor? Is there an opportunity in B. Altman's for me? Is there something that you can suggest that would better my condition in the business world?..."

REPORTS

  1. 7/28/34 [554]'s letter:
    "...I feel very much better since taking your suggested treatment. I should like another Reading if possible next Saturday at which time I will be at my home... I am anxious to know of my condition, whether I should continue with the Caroid and Alcaroid, and I am also anxious to know whether I have contacted the right man at Lord & Taylor as you suggested in your last Reading, and if there is any other suggestion you will find in your next Reading..."
