This psychic reading given by Edgar Cayce at his home on Arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Virginia, this 25th day of May, 1934, in accordance with request made by the parents, Active Members of the Ass'n for Research & Enlightenment, Inc., [Mr. [317] & Mrs. [267]], via their friend, Mr. [440].

Present: Edgar Cayce; Gertrude Cayce, Conductor; Gladys Davis, Steno. Mrs. [267], Mildred Davis and a Mrs. Spencer. Born May 19, 1928, 9:20 A. M., in the Protestant Hospital, Norfolk, Virginia.

TEXT

1. EC: We have the entity here, and those relations with the universe and universal forces, that are latent and manifested in the personalities of the present entity, known now as [559].
2. As to the entrance into the present experience, and how and where such records are made by an entity - in the appearances and in the interims - that may be read, we find:
3. That upon the film of time and space, or that between time and space, makes or carries the records of the activities and thoughts of individuals in their sojourn through any realm of experience.
4. And as to how well the record may be given depends upon how well that which has been made may be interpreted by one who may read such records. As to how true the interpretation is depends upon how strong the desire of such a soul is, or how well those responsible for such an activity of a soul may be in accord or attuned to those realms of experience - or the manner or channel of interpretation.
5. In entering from astrological or, preferably, from sojourns in other environs about the earth, we find these as innate or the mental abilities of the entity - and the sojourns in the environs about the earth are accredited with influences, or have certain influences upon an activity in the earth from the sojourn there, and are as these in this particular entity:
6. Mercury makes for a high mental ability of the entity, with particular reference to those things that are of the nature of what may be termed the little things, or detail or minutia. These in this entity find particular expression in its developing mental relationships between the spiritual and the material things in the entity's experience.
7. Being a highly sensitive personage or soul, from its sojourns in the environs of Uranus, makes for the influences especially that find expression in the psychic or soul forces of the entity, and the relationships of same to spirit activity in the material things about the entity; and also for those in the physical abilities and activities of the entity. And there should be precautions especially regarding the entity's physical activity as related to the mental and spiritual during the 10th and 11th year of the entity's experience in the sojourn; for unless there ARE precautions, fevers - especially in the head, and intestinal disturbances - will make for periods when the desires of the spiritual may outweigh those of the physical for further sojourn in the material activity. These are from the SPIRITUAL; hence the physical and those relationships to the mental during such periods must have special precautions, as to things that would bring to bear in the experience of the entity an influence as to the digestive area, especially as related to strept in the blood, as for temperature in the body, the head, and especially the neck. In the relationships, we find the high nervous temperament; a very SENSITIVE soul; and those things that would be such as to upbraid or condemn or make for the breaking of the spirit of this soul would EVER be harmful to the body in its mental and material development. Hence particular precautions are necessary in the development of the entity, that whatever is said or told as being true must have a reason or cause - to the entity. For, with the high mental abilities, and the high sensitive abilities of the entity, these things will have an influence as to what the body may be, or as to that which will influence the mental and physical body the greater in the present experience.
8. Saturn, with the combined influences of Jupiter, makes for the increased sensitivenesses as to what may be termed inspirational activity in the entity's mental and spiritual self. So, the endeavors or trainings of the entity for its activities in the material things should be in the lines dealing with the finer arts; as in music and, especially, the STRINGED instruments - or the reeds AND strings combined with the art; or the COMBINING of art with musical activity will be the outlet, either in the early stages or the more mature development - should there be such in this material plane.
9. So, these are the INNATE influences from sojourns in the environs about the earth; NOT IN the earth, though - from the appearances and relationships with the activities during such sojourns - we will find many of the reasons for the particular sojourns of the entity or soul in those environs of Mercury, Uranus, Saturn and Jupiter, with the later sojourn in the realms of Venus - which will make for the periods of such relationships as being ACUTE in the activity; yet that which would bring about in the latter portion of the entity's sojourn in the present, not that ordinarily known as marital love but, rather the love for the SPIRITUAL life, the spiritual existences, the spiritual urges that arise - not wholly platonic, but more spiritually platonic in its relationships; for the loves of the entity will be the more often with its own sex than with the opposite sex, and such relationships also must be guarded as to the purposes, aims, desires, and the relationships that such activities bring for the entity in the present earth experience.
10. Then, as to the appearances in the earth plane (that influence the entity in the present; though, as given, these may change or others may - with the development of the soul - bring about varied or changed reactions in the entity's experience), we find:
11. Before this the entity was in that land or place about what is now known as Salem, or Providence Town and Salem, during those sojourns or activities when there were the persecutions of those for visions, or for the spiritualistic activities.
12. And the entity, in the name Hester Robynsen [See 6/02/75, Par. R8], was among those used rather to give a lesson to many others - as was SUPPOSED in good faith by many in the experience.
13. The entity, though tender in years, was persecuted unmercifully from the material standpoint. Hence, while there is the interest in those activities or such relations in this material experience, they should be - while not so guarded - rather reasoned concerning, as to the same influences that may make for a development in a way and manner such that there is the spiritual development of self - and not wholly material or mental development - in these directions.
14. For, though the entity or soul gained, the body suffered during that experience or sojourn, and will bring into the experience of self during this sojourn the experiences when many questions or questionings may be made as to the purposes and aims. And OFT will the body be called strange to others.
15. Before that we find the entity was in that land now known as Palestine, during that period when there were those that heard of and received those teachings during the experiences of the walk of the Son of man in the earth.
16. The entity then was that one whom the Master called again from the deep sleep - Jairus' daughter. Before and after that happening, we find that the entity was one in the experience who gave much of self to make for the closer association and relation with the mental attributes of the spirit as related to the material things, rather than to the thoughts of material things themselves.
17. Hence, will it be any wonder that in this sojourn, during the tender years (as then), the experience must come when more of the same influence as held the entity into the earth will be necessary in the experience, rather than those things pertaining wholly to material things? Yet, when one is in ANY environ, one is subject to the laws of same; and unless material laws are spiritualized in the mental activity of souls, those oft that are healed physically remain sick spiritually.
18. Much might be given as to that sojourn and the entity's experience during that activity, yet from same will come in the present the love of those that are gentle, that are tender with the mental and material activities of the entity. And the little niceties of associations that mean so much to this entity are as regular happenings to many and little thought of; yet bring much joy to this soul.
19. Before that we find the entity was in that land now known as the Egyptian, and among the Abyssinian people that were especially influenced by those of the Atlantean land when those activities and developments were being carried on with the reconstruction of the priest's activity in that experience.
20. The entity joined rather with those that had come from the Atlantean land, making of self then a priestess that went with those peoples to the Abyssinian land and set up an entirely reactionary action to those experiences; yet brought much to those peoples, and the entity gained in soul and material development, for it rose to the position as the priestess in that land, and there still may be seen in some of the mountain fastnesses of that land; particularly in the upper Nile where there were those activities in the mountains; the images of the entity that are often worshipped - the entrance to the tombs there.
21. Then the name was Ai-Ellaiin, and the hieroglyphics will be found to be marked as these: The Ibex (the bird of same), the hornheaded man, the Ibex turned in the opposite direction, the sacred bull of Ipis (?), the hooded man as of the Ethiopian people, the cross, the serpent (upright), the staff with the symbol (that should be the symbol of the entity throughout its experience) as the B's turned toward each other - or one upright with two loops on either side of same, with the serpent head two ways from the top of same. This should be the symbol ever of the entity, as should be the scarab with same; one as the amulet and the other either as a pin or about the body; as well as the lapis linguis also would bring to the entity much, if it were worn about the body, keeping low the fires of passion - from materiality that there may be greater mental and spiritual development of this entity in the experience.
22. Before that we find the entity was in the land now known as the Atlantean, during those periods before there was a great deal of destruction or erosion. The entity then was of those peoples in charge of the services to One God, in the Temple of Fire that was made by those who later brought destructive forces to much of the land.
23. The entity then was one who ruled with a loving hand over all those peoples, yet this was taken advantage of by one Jouuuel in that experience; and the entity suffered much mentally, losing in its soul development, that brought the activity into those lands where those activities were such as to make for much that pertained to the developing of SPIRITUAL forces to the material activities - or aggrandizing the interests of self for the bodily needs, rather as bodily desires. This made for the experiences when the activities brought many of the changes in the relations at that period, yet from the sojourn in the present may be seen that love, that liking, that urge towards the FEELINGS of the body - or wanting or desiring to touch certain characters of cloth, or certain colors having their particular influences upon the entity. And, as we find, these may be turned into those things that make for the answering of the sensitive forces in the experience of the body.
24. As to that to which the entity may attain in the present, and how:
25. Keeping first those things that make for the activity in the directions indicated will make for the finer soul, spiritual, mental and material applications in the experience of this entity in such a way and manner as to bring the most in this sojourn.
26. Ready for questions.
27. (Q) Which tendencies should be counteracted, and which encouraged?
    (A) As indicated from those things that have brought detrimental and those that have brought the more spiritual aspects; that is, that the true, the line upon line for the entity, should be the developing of those things pertaining to music and art - that in its experience, and the finer things in the spiritual life, will make the greater developments.
28. (Q) What should be her life's work, and how may it best be developed?
    (A) In those lines or endeavors as indicated.
29. (Q) Should her environment be changed, or is there anything being left undone that should be done?
    (A) The developments are well, as we find in the present. Only that there should always be the true relationships presented to the developing mind.
    The greater period of care will be in the 10th and 11th year of the entity's experience. Be mindful of these in the directions given.

BACKGROUND

1. See 559-6, her sixth Physical Rdg., on 5/26/30, when she was 2 yrs. old.
2. 3/20/34 Parents' friend, Mr. [440], requested and sent money for first Physical 267-2 and Life Rdg. 559-7.

REPORTS

1. Mother said she was thrilled with the information - the characteristics coincided with those [559] has; she knew [559] was an unusual child when she was born, she just felt it.
2. GD's note: That fall - of 1934 - the child's parents, Mr. [317] and Mrs. [267], separated and were later divorced. From that time on little [559] had no association with her father. In the early 1940's both of her brothers were killed in World War II. She and her mother lived and worked together (see 267-1 Reports).
3. 11/27/48 She married a naval officer.
4. 2/05/53 GD's note: I heard that her second child, a son, was born on 1/31/53.
5. 2/14/66 Her husband is now a Commander; he spends much time in foreign service; she and her mother, [267], live close together.
6. 4/28/71 Verbal report by friend Mr. [440]: "[559] and her husband live in ..., Tenn. He is still in NAS. They have three children, two boys and one girl. One boy is named for his father and his Uncle [3886]. [559]'s mother, [267], is gradually dying; she [267] and [559]'s husband's mother live together in Va. in a house provided for them by [559] and husband."
7. 6/07/72 Mrs. [559] visited A.R.E. and told me that her mother [267] had died 6/26/71 and her father [317] on 2/06/72. She requested copies of rdgs. obtained for the entire family.
