Edgar Cayce Readings, 563-1

GC: You will go over this body carefully, examine it thoroughly and tell me the conditions you find at the present time. You will diagnose the case thoroughly, giving the cause of the existing conditions, also the treatment for the cure and relief of this body.
EC: Now, we find the abnormal conditions in the body are being relieved, and the resistive forces in the system, physically, are exerting themselves in such a manner as to overcome and dispel the abnormalities in the functioning of the system.
These conditions, as we see, have to do with temperature created in the system by poisons as were being kept or held in system and not eliminated through their proper channels. This, as we see, involves the mesenteric system. The plasm cells about the lacteal ducts bring nausea, biliousness, and temperature to the body. The exciting of the system to the increasing of the lymph producing glands in the body causing more of the salines to flow in the system and eliminating through the body these poisons are bringing the conditions nearer the normal forces.
Then, the conditions to be warned against are those as exist in the nerve system that will cause congestion in the portion of body where the branches of nerves give the incentive for action in the body. Then, to relieve these conditions, and to assist the body in gaining its full physical, mental and nerve equilibrium, we would add with that as has been taken in the system, and as being taken, those of the thorough massaging into the cerebro-spinal system those properties as found in equal parts of pure olive oil and tincture of myrrh, mixing parts and dipping fingers in same and massaging into the spine, along the whole length of spine. This, as we see, will assist in reducing temperature, assist in bringing the equalization of nerve tension, remove the tendency for the lesions in the dorsal and lower lumbar region, giving food to the lymph centers in capillary circulation, assist in bringing the normal condition to the digestion.
The diet should be only those properties that are strengthening to the system. Only those of the liquid diet at the present, with those of fresh vegetable forces that are good, fresh and clean. Give these massages at least once each day, until the body is able to show the sign of settling of system in the stomach, intestines and kidney action. Then these may be given every third day for at least two weeks, and we will bring the normal forces to this body, [563].

4/16/25 Mother's wire: "Wonderful reading [257-9] rec'd - prescription filled - [257] better. [563] still very ill. Would appreciate immediate reading for her as to present treatment, also diet, and how long before crisis reached. Will write you in a day or so. Certainly appreciate promptness. Can vibrator be used?" [See mother's ltr. 5/01/25 under 563-1, Par. R2 indicating that [563] was 10 days ill already with a bad case of scarlet fever when 563-1 was given.]

REPORTS

4/29/25 Brother [257]'s letter: "I feel better again and [563] is doing fine. Mother [325] is the one who gets the worst of it... [563] had a terrible case of scarlet fever..."
5/01/25 Mother [325]'s letter: "Every minute of the first 3 wks. of [563]'s illness has been taken just in giving her the necessary attention scarlet fever requires. Indeed she had it in the worst form. But as you know at the time of the reading she was 10 days ill already and the reading says correctly - it was all just that way. She had a terrible sore mouth - I was very uneasy about her hearing but thanks to the Lord she hears better than ever now, and has a very good appetite and the doctor says Wed. she can go about as usual. He did nothing but just come and look at her, as he said that I knew my business, but the N.Y. law requires a doctor in all cases."
