This Psychic Reading given by Edgar Cayce at his home on Arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Va., this 1st day of March, 1940, in accordance with request made by the self - Mrs. [563], through her brother, Mr. [257], Active Member of the Ass'n for Research & Enlightenment, Inc.

Present: Edgar Cayce; Gertrude Cayce, Conductor; Gladys Davis, Steno.

TEXT

1. GC: You will go over this body carefully, examine it throughly, and tell me the conditions you find at the present time; giving the cause of the existing conditions, also suggestions for help and relief of this body. You will answer the questions, as I ask them:
2. EC: Yes, we have the body here, [563].
3. As we find, there are rather the acute conditions - and also those disturbances of natures that are inclined to become contributory causes to the acute conditions.
4. These, then, are conditions as we find them with this body, [563]:
5. In the blood supply we find there is the lack of those elements in the blood stream, so that there is caused a loss - or lack - of proper coagulation in the system.
6. Hence we find in the blood streams there are the inclinations for the walls of some of the veins to become thinned.
7. Thus we have a form of anemia, but of a nature that is of the GLANDULAR system - or the assimilating forces.
8. Also we find there are those conditions through the alimentary canal, where especially the sphincter muscles and nerves are involved from this disturbance.
9. Hence the conditions that cause a great deal of itching, and at times the blind hemorrhoids - or protruding of the folds of the lower portion of the anus.
10. This also at times causes a great deal of distress, as well as - through the thinned condition of the folds - a great deal of bleeding.
11. As we find, these are the greater disturbing conditions.
12. And, while there are applications needed for the acute conditions, we find that it is also necessary to build for a GENERAL condition of betterment through those forces that are weakened and disturbed.
13. Then, as we find, first:
14. We would begin with the use of an ointment - as Pazo Ointment - for injection through the areas where there are the disturbances.
15. Also we would use Saffron Tea; one dose of same - a tablespoonful - to be taken each day, preferably in the evening. Take at least a tablespoonful at the dose. It would be prepared in this manner: Pour a pint of boiling water over two tablespoonsful of the Saffron (American Saffron) and let steep as tea. Then this quantity may be kept and taken each day until the whole amount is taken, but keep in the ice box, of course.
16. Stay off the feet as much as practical until the acute conditions are removed.
17. Also - for the general conditions, to aid in removing the causes of these conditions:
18. Keep away from highly seasoned foods, and from any form of drinks that carry carbonated waters or that are of any appreciable alcohol content.
19. Take more of the liver and beef extracts.
20. Or, the Wyeth's Beef, Iron and Wine will be most helpful; a teaspoonful at each meal taken. Don't take this UNLESS the meal IS taken, but with each meal take same.
21. Fresh vegetables are better than the dried, - so take them fresh whenever practical.
22. Then, - each morning and each evening, before there is anything binding about the body of morning and AFTER disrobing in the evening, - for at least three to five minutes take this exercise: Rise gently on the toes (and this without shoes, of course), and at the same time raise the hands high above the head, then lean forward as much as possible without losing balance. Do this slowly and consistently.
23. Do not use too much of laxatives, but rather use enemas to have the evacuations each day.
24. Doing these, we will find that these conditions will gradually disappear.
25. Ready for questions.
26. (Q) What causes constipation and what can be done to alleviate same?
    (A) The inclinations for the system to attempt to absorb, as indicated, from the lack of the proper balance in the diet. Hence those things that have been suggested as to the character of foods that should be taken. And with the exercise we would find much better conditions.
27. (Q) Is there any type of growth present?
    (A) Not as we find. And DO NOT have operative forces - as yet!
28. (Q) Has the doctor who has been treating the body done same any good?
    (A) Not as we find in any appreciable way. These have been helpful at times, and then a returning of disturbances.
29. (Q) Would it be better to see a Dr. Robin Hood?
    (A) As we find, if it is desirous, see any of them you care to! We have given what will aid, if consistently done!

2. 2/23/40 Brother [257]'s letter: "While I was writing [for 257-217] sister [563] came in. Strange to say, she has exactly the same condition as I have [bloody stool], so I got you another customer right away... Is there a hemorrhoidal condition - if not, what causes the emission of blood? What causes the itching and how can it be remedied? Constipation? Is there any type of growth? Is an operation necessary? Diet? Exercise? Is there a polyp in the rectal tract? Are certain families addicted to a condition like this? (Brothers [2588], [2653], and [563] and I all have had it.)... What can [563] do to help sister [459] work out her problems at ... School?"

REPORTS

1. 3/06/40 Mrs. [563]'s letter: "Dear Judge: I rec'd your rdg. and can truly say I was thrilled with it. Upon receipt of it I promptly bought all the medicines and am going to follow the suggestions faithfully. I was quite relieved to hear that an operation was not advised, for that is the last thing I anticipate."
2. 11/24/42 A.M. She obtained 2854-1 for husband. That night she gave birth to a baby boy, her first child.
3. 7/14/65 Brother [257]'s report to GD: "[563] and [2854] are fine. [2854] is Vice-President of his firm. Their two boys are going into medicine..."
