6/20/34 EC's letter to Dr. W. Lee Kapple; in reply to his
ltr. of
6/12/34 in re another patient, Mrs. [
515], who had
been referred to him for following the reading:
"Recently we referred a Mrs. [
652] to you for treatments for
her son, according to a reading we had sometime ago. I think
they have had him most everywhere. The father is quite
partial to chiropractic treatments but averse to certain
other modes. I understand that the mother has had
considerable experience with things psychic. So, this may
not be a very good combination to wish on you, but if you
have the opportunity to treat him I'm sure you will do your
best to give him the line of treatment suggested in the
reading. If there are any questions you would like to have
asked in another reading, after examining young [
567] and
beginning his treatments, don't hesitate to let us know. I
believe in working this way we will be able to be of real
service to a number of people. This family may have gotten
in touch with you before this. Let me know what you find,
when they do.
"Under separate cover I am sending some of the booklets. You
may distribute these as you see fit, wherever you feel they
will be of the most interest and help. We want to use
ourselves in that way, and we realize that it is necessary to
have the cooperation of the profession in the greater number
of cases. Anything you can do towards helping us to be of a
service to our fellow man, will certainly be appreciated.
"With all good wishes and kind personal regards, I am,"
Sincerely, [EC:GD]

6/25/34 Father [
643]'s letter: "Mrs. [
652] has not yet
received a copy of the report but the original I have brought
home so do not bother.
"I am writing to thank you for the courteous treatment given
to [
567] and to me and to report on Dr. Kapple.
"I went once with [
567] and his work has greatly impressed me
both as to his knowledge and beneficial results.
"Your recommendation is for a worthy man; naturally you will
be glad to hear this.
"I wanted [
567] to start at once with the Atomidine and the
treatments but he phoned you and said you preferred waiting
until we reached home.
"At a later date I will write for a check reading. We
believe we are on the right track, thanks to you and [
567]
will work along with what your directions call for."
6/26/34 Mother [
652]'s Wire: "Mr. [
643] trying electricity
and hypnosis for [
567] with Captain O'Donovan. If possible
please contact them at office...tomorrow Wednesday morning at
eleven o'clock Chicago Daylight Time. If injurious please
wire me collect at ..., Ill. [
567] also taking your
treatment with Kapple. Very anxious." [

6/26/34 Dr. Kapple's ltr. which was not rec'd until after
567-2:
I have your letter of June 20 as well as the patient you
mention, they stopped to see me the 21st on their way home
to ...
The second treatment was given June 21 at which time the
patient told me he had only one spell for the two days.
Today he reports three in two days of a very mild nature.
He seems very well pleased with this treatment and has
promised to write you relative to another form of treatment
he is taking in addition to our service.
This Capt. O'Donovan is using electric therapy especially on
the spinal column along with mesmerism. I personally do not
know what to think of the combination, it would be mighty
fine if it works to his advantage. However, I shall remain
neutral in the matter, his case is not an easy one but I
feel confident somehow he will pull through.
I believe he should have a few baths to help eliminate any
possible acid condition which is manifest on the skin, what
do you think.
The spinal diagnosis reveals plenty trouble in the 12 dorsal,
as well as the lumbar and cervical. I understand you want
treatment from the right side, but not a lateral, a lateral
to me, would be a force from the right towards the left
side, and it seems the condition calls for it, the antro
force will bring results in this area as you mention, with
the patient face down this antro would be from the side of
the spine toward the abdomen. I shall continue to work this
way until I hear from you again. In closing, I want to thank
you for the interest shown in recommending this work I shall
do my very best.
Yours very truly,
