This psychic reading given by Edgar Cayce at his home on Arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Va., this 15th day of March, 1937, in accordance with request made by the self - Miss [569], on Membership of Mr. [419] in the Ass'n for Research & Enlightenment, Inc.

TEXT

1. EC: Yes, we have the body here; this we have had before.
2. As we find, while there are many changes in the general physical forces of the body since last we had same here, that which disturbs the most is the humor in the blood supply - that has been indicated for the body heretofore.
3. There are now some organic disturbances that are to be reckoned with in the present. While the abrasions over the body (from the humor) are irritating, unless these were the condition would be very, very serious indeed.
4. Hence there should be palliatives for the humor but not such as to dry it up entirely; rather the administering of those properties in the diet and in the changes for the activities of the organs of the eliminations, of the activities of the general system, as to allay and eradicate to an extent - as far as practical - the conditions as cause same.
5. Thus we may establish a better coordination between the superficial and the deep circulation as well as the organic reactions between the liver, the kidneys, the alimentary canal and the circulatory forces of the body.
6. First, as we find, in the diet: To be sure, while there should be at this time rather a stringent or specific diet, there should be considerable leeway in this also. These then as we find are the better in the present:
7. Mornings - a citrus fruit or a cooked cereal, as Maltex or Whole Wheat. Do not take the cereal AND the citrus fruit juices at the same meal, or even the same day; but one or two days between each other. Then we may have at times, with the citrus fruit juice, an egg or a little bacon - very crisp bacon, and only the yolk of the egg. Coffee is preferable to tea of any kind; preferably the coffee without milk. We find the better coffee for this particular body would be the G. Washington Coffee, rather than that parched or ground. There is less of the tannic acid, less of the sediments in this.
8. Then we would have at the next meal, or in the combination, at least one or two raw vegetables; and no large quantities of fats. Eat honey in the honeycomb as a sweet, and be sure there is the comb in most of that eaten; for this, with other conditions, will assist in better purifying through the alimentary canal, for it acts as an aid to better conditions, and will not disturb the pancreas and the kidneys - the activity of all of these being disturbed in the present; but works better with corn bread or whole wheat bread, that are better as breads than the white bread.
9. In meats we would use either fowl, fish or lamb. Prunes or the eggplant, or pie plant stewed (that is, rhubarb) to be sure will assist. These should be taken about once a week, and with the effluvia as produced by their activities and other eliminating properties that are to be a portion of the activity, will work well together if they are taken about this often.
10. As an alleviating of the burning, the itching in the abrasion portions, we would use (not too heavy) the Resinol as an ointment or compound, see?
11. While the body may be kept bathed, and should have the bath, of course, but not too much water. This is irritating to the skin, to be sure. When the body bathes, put a little soda in the bath water - about a heaping teaspoonful to the gallon of water.
12. Also we would take periodically the Eno Salts. Take a heaping teaspoonful in a glass of water each morning for about three to five mornings, and then leave off for about three to four days; then take again.
13. The low electrical vibrations from the Radio-Active Appliance will be helpful.
14. Also we would use the violet ray, though do not use the bulb. Use only the hand or rod applicator and take electricity. The first few times this is used there will be greater irritation to the body than even at present. Hence don't take it too long. Half a minute or a minute is plenty. Take this about twice a week, Tuesdays and Fridays. As conditions are helped, the period may be increased, and this will aid the local applications as well as the rest of the system to react the better.
15. To keep the kidneys in better activity, about every Wednesday take Watermelon Seed Tea. Crush the seed, about a half or an ounce of same, put in a pint of water. Let this brew as tea. This may be strained and set aside, but do not keep longer, even in the ice box, than two or three days; for this becomes then retroactive, of course, by the action of air and of properties that would be in the same location throwing off their emanations. It is better that it be put in a bottle and corked, even in the ice box - when kept at all; but warmed to be taken.
16. Do these as we find for the better conditions of this body.
17. Ready for questions.
18. (Q) How much of the tea should be taken at a time, and how often?
    (A) Just as given, on Wednesdays this is to be taken - about a half to an ounce of same.
19. (Q) What cooked vegetables may be taken?
    (A) Any of the leafy vegetables. Rather the jackets of potatoes only should be taken, and that very close to same. Yams may be taken provided they have not been frozen, and these - of course - with butter. The beans, green beans but not dried beans. Canned butterbeans or corn in minute quantities may be taken; that is, once or twice a week and not large quantities then.
20. (Q) Should the sassafras tea be discontinued?
    (A) As we have given, if this character of coffee is used as indicated this may be taken twice a day and is much better for the body than any character of tea as a beverage. The Watermelon Seed Tea is not as a beverage; it is as a medicine to act with the kidney eliminations - that are very much disturbed.
21. (Q) Should the Watermelon Seed Tea be taken in more than one dose during the day?
    (A) As given, Wednesdays - half to an ounce of same, each week. Not like the Eno Salts, to be sure, taken and then left off; but it would only be taken once a week for several weeks, not to overflow but to make more of an activity in these eliminations.
    And all of these combined in the diet, in the vibrations, in the applications to work together, if they are made to coordinate they will cooperate with the conditions in the present.
