TEXT

1. EC: Yes, we have the body here, [570].
2. As we find, conditions are not so good with this body. There are those conditions that have separated themselves in the manner of physically making a growth within self, and calling on the forces of the body to supply the necessary elements for this growth; yet - while lesions and adhesions exist with same - as we find - the operative measures would be too severe, with the existent conditions. For, the resistances in the blood supply are low, and the abilities for cresting proper coagulation through the system are so negligible that operative forces would scarcely be the manner - under the EXISTENT conditions - for the removal of the causes.
3. We find that it would be much better to use palliative measures in the present, over those places in the body - the whole torso, here in the right portion and in those portions where the outside activities are so severe - until there can at least be builded sufficient in the physical forces to supply the demands that will be made by the subjugation of the nerve forces of the body through the operation, with the loss of blood and the necessity for the forming of sufficient in the leucocyte and white blood for warring against such drastic measures.
4. Such applications in the present then, we find, would be as these:
5. We would take internally an eighth grain of Animated Ash twice each day. EMPTY the Ash from capsule onto tongue, and wash down with water.
6. Five to six minutes after the evening dose has been taken, we would apply the hand violet ray for two to five minutes; not OVER those places, but over those centers from which such portions of the body affected - that is, in the caecum liver and hepatic area - receive their impulse. This will cause a centralization of the releasing of the oxygen for the blood supply by the Ash in the system.
7. Over the same area we would also apply Castor Oil packs; very hot, and continue these until there is sufficient reaction from the applications to release the swelling, as well as the activity of the organs and glands themselves in creating better eliminations. Keep for two and a half to three hours each day over the liver and caecum area.
8. Drainages set this way, if the body will respond, will prevent operative measures; while such a major operation in the present would be fatal.
9. As to the matter of the diet; this should be nerve and blood building, a liquid diet through the greater part of the time; citrus fruit juices, a great deal of limes and lemons, and beef juices. Not meat nor stews nor soups or the like, but rather the juice itself - very small quantities.
10. Do this.
11. Ready for questions.
12. We are through for the present.

    Copy to Mrs. [979]
    Copy to Ass'n file
(6/05/34 GD's note: The Animated Ash is manufactured by B. H. Bradley, 5443 Maryland Ave., Chicago, Ill. [GD enclosed letter (copy) from Mr. Bradley to a customer [See under 432-1 Reports], explaining what the Ash is; and also said, "Order in 1/8 grain capsules or divide the 1/4 grains. Be sure to take AS DIRECTED in reading."]
GD's note to [570]: You probably understand about the Castor Oil packs; you use about three or four thicknesses of flannel, dipped in Castor Oil as hot as may be stood, and keep applying; as fast as the pack cools dip it again, for the required period each day.
DIRECTIONS FOR MAKING PURE BEEF JUICE
Put small chunks raw beef in covered fruit jar. Put jar inside pan of water (water coming to about half the depth of jar). Boil until chunks of beef are thoroughly done. Strain. Keep juice in cool place. Dosage: Usually, for an adult, a tablespoonful at meals, diluted with water as a broth - but "very small quantities" must mean about a teaspoonful every two or three hours.)

3. 10/29/34 Niece, Mrs. [654]'s ltr.: "Mother [979] is visiting her brother in ..., Ky. I had a letter from her a few days ago and she says Uncle [570] is so much better he is able to be out, drive the car and do all his work now and says he feels like you saved his life, as he is sure he wouldn't have lasted long had it not been for you."
4. 9/08/38 Sister [979] wrote of his wife [485] dying [[570]'s wife]. "My brother, [570], did follow his rdg. and was so greatly helped. He told me when I was there he knew you saved his life. He is still able to carry on his work at the age of 72."
