This psychic reading given by Edgar Cayce at his home on Arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Va., this 25th day of October, 1934, in accordance with request made by the wife - Mrs. [...] through Study Group #1 of the Ass'n for Research & Enlightenment, Inc.

TEXT

  1. EC: Yes. As we find, there has been somewhat of an exaggeration of the distresses in the lung area with this body, through an overexercise and indulgence that has made for the breaking - as it were - of a lesion in the area that has caused or produced repression, see?
  2. We would prepare a compound to be used on a pack over the lung area in the present, in this manner:
  3. To 1 ounce of grain alcohol, add:

      Oil of Eucalyptus...................30 minims,
      Rectified Oil of Turp..............1/2 ounce,
      Tincture of Benzoin................1/4 ounce,
      Oil of Pine Needles................1/4 ounce.

    Put these together and shake well. Then, securing a piece of heavy flannel that would cover the lower portion of the lung - especially the left lung, dip this in Oil of Wintergreen. After the flannel has been wrung out of the oil of Wintergreen, SPRINKLE it thoroughly with the above solution and apply over the lung area, the front AND back! Keep this pack warm on the body by using preferably a bag of heated salt.
  4. This will break up these lesions. Then, with the expectorant that has been given for the body, this will cause it to throw off, and we will feel relief in - yes, in less than four hours.
  5. Do that.
  6. Then follow the general outline that has been given.
  7. Be mindful of self that there's not too much exercise; and we should bring better conditions for this body.
  8. This is, of course, over the left lung the most; though it comes over the sternum or middle portion of the lobes BETWEEN the lungs, see?
  9. We are through for the present.
