6/13/46 Report by [
585] taken by Gina Cerminara:
585-2
6/15/34, Par. 18: "one that finds secular things hard
to understand..." Yes - says she finds it difficult to
understand money, finance, politics, etc.
585-1 9/14/32, Par. 13-Q re. message from Michael? Had heard
from Dave Kahn about sitting with pencil and paper at
bedside; tried it; one night woke up, conscious of hearing a
voice; heard a message, of which only a fragment remained;
the time was 2:05 A.M.
585-6 10/11/39, Par. 9-A: Probably CENSORIOUS, not sensuous,
because she had tendency to find fault, and be critical; says
she believes she has overcome this tendency, of which -
before the reading - she had been unaware.
[
585-6] Par. 13-Q: Thinks that the person to whom this "pays
and pays" refers to is the 57-year old man, mentally
incompetent, who cannot speak, for whom she acts as nurse at
present. He was the son of wealthy parents, who could have
done everything for him. Later reading shows that he was her
son in Egypt; the Finnish woman [
5223] who makes a home for
him (by terms of the will) took a liking to Mrs. [
585] when
she first saw her, and hired her at once; the later reading
says they were together also in Egypt. Several times Mrs.
[
585] wanted to leave the place, but the readings always told
her not to. She and the guardian do have their disagreements
(as the reading says) but generally get along fine and like
each other.
585-12 9/01/43 re experience in Egypt with electrical
vibrations: Mrs. [
585] says she loves electrical storms,
lightning never frightens her; says she is interested in
electricity, though doesn't understand it much. However,
when there were lectures in Norfolk on Radar, she attended
them.
After divorce from her husband, Mrs. [
585] went into nursing.
This was at the suggestion of a friend. At the time of her
first position she got the reading which told her she would
be a good nurse.
How have the readings helped you? Mrs. [
585] says it made
her aware of her faults: gave her new philosophy - to be of
help to other people; gave her clearer idea of God, which had
never been real to her before. Idea of reincarnation was
completely new to her, and helped her a great deal. Felt
that the previous lives were accurate. The Palestine
experience, in which she helped those that were weak and
crippled, seemed to ring true in that she has always turned
around to look with pity at anybody crippled. Before her
daughter was born, prayed that she would have straight legs.
She had never fully realized this fact (of her interest)
'till the reading pointed it out.
3/79 The A.R.E. JOURNAL P. 86 Review:
WHEN THE LAST TRUMPET IS SOUNDED, by Ruth DeCormis LeNoir,
A.R.E. Press, Virginia Beach, Va., 1978. 231 pp. $8.95 (291)
Hardback
Of all the books that have been written concerning the Edgar
Cayce readings, one of the most exquisite is this one written
by the oldest living member of the first Search for God Study
Group and Secretary since 1950 of the A.R.E. Prayer Group -
Ruth LeNoir. WHEN THE LAST TRUMPET IS SOUNDED is a book
about Jesus, composed of carefully selected extracts from the
readings concerning the time "when the Master walked in the
earth." These extracts are woven into a continuous story,
interlaced with passages from the Bible plus experiences and
insights from the author's own life - and what this can mean
here - now - today.
Like the readings which were given for individuals, the story
is told through readings given for people who were associated
with Jesus. A special sense of timelessness and immediacy is
given in the juxtaposition of past and present as, for
example, in the foreword: "Another writer who thought to do
this book was Judy, teacher of the Master in Palestine. She
came to the Beach and...said to me..." The openness of the
author in sharing personal experiences makes vivid the daily
availability of the Divine in everyday life. But the bulk of
the book is composed of excerpts from the readings. It is a
book:
1/24/80 GD's note: Mrs. [
585] has remained active in the
A.R.E. all these years - Secretary of the A.R.E. Prayer Group
since 1950. Yes, she has given us permission to use her name
with her number - Ruth LeNoir. See the review of her book
WHEN THE LAST TRUMPET IS SOUNDED, in paragraph above. She
is working on her second book now, covering her experiences
with Edgar Cayce and A Search for God Group No. 1. In this
book she is making available all her readings with her
comments on them and how they helped her.
OF SOLACE: "...let all take heart and know that this, too,
as the hour upon Calvary, must pass away; and that as upon
the wings of the morning there comes that new hope, that new
desire, to the hearts and minds of all who seek to know His
face." (
5749-13, p. 93)
OF EXPECTATION: The Lord will come "When those that are His
have made the way clear, PASSABLE, for Him to come."
(
262-49, p. 117)
OF JOY: "Be ye glad. Be ye joyous when those things come to
be thy lot that should or would disturb the material-minded.
Like Him, look up, lift up thy heart, thy mind unto the Giver
of all good and perfect gifts..." (
5749-10, p. 97)
OF CHALLENGE: "Be glorious in thy activity." (
262-59, p.
117)
OF PROMISE: "Then ye shall see Him as He is, when ye live
such a life." (
3011-3, p. 116)
The book will appeal to seekers who have found an inner
awakening response to the words and spirit behind the Edgar
Cayce readings, who feel drawn to the Master Jesus, who want
to be part of the preparation for the coming to all mankind
of the Christ-Spirit - to all those who "love His coming."
It is fortunate that this is a sturdy, well-bound book, for
it is destined to be read and loved and underlined and
written upon in the margins, and to be a companion book to
many a Bible for years to come. Thank you, Ruth. Jim Baker.
3/10/81 GD's note: Ruth LeNoir died in a hospital, after a
long illness, though her mind was active almost to the
last... She would have been 85 yrs. old on
3/18/81.
