We are through with this reading.
[EC frowned on awaking and said he felt strange. GC said she
felt while giving the suggestion for going to sleep that
something wanted to come through, also at close of rdg. EC
said he saw a friend of Mrs. [
489]'s, also the mean looking
face of a Chinaman.]

BACKGROUND
5/10/34 Sister, Mrs. [
489], requested a Physical rdg. for
Mrs. [
586] "who is ill."
5/24/34 Mrs. [
489] told us that her sister was in an insane
asylum.
6/06/34 She wrote that Mrs. [
586] "is at the Harlem Valley
State Hospital at Wingdale, N.Y."
REPORTS
6/34 Sister's [
489] ltr. to EC: "Many thanks for the reading
for my sister. It was disappointing of course but I felt it
would be - so was prepared. I feel though now as if we could
rest, as there is nothing to be done at present."
6/25/34 EC's reply: "...It was disappointing to us also that
there was not at least something offered in your sister's
reading. So seldom do we have a case where there is no hope
offered, that this was quite a bit of surprise to us.
Usually some suggestion is made for comfort or ease, if no
permanent help; but I'm sure this indicates that every means
possible is being used at the present time. Of course, the
prayers of many may bring about a change in the conditions,
that later something may be done..."
9/28/35 Mrs. [
586]'s daughter [Miss [
4938]] fell out of a
bedroom window and was killed. See
4938-1 which Mrs. [
489]
obtained about it.
