6/26/34 Letter to Mr. [
595]:
Dear Mr. [
595]:
The information gotten in your reading has been forwarded.
I hope you have found it not only interesting but will find
it very much worth while in your experience; which I believe
- from experience - you will, with following the suggestions
made. The reading of itself, of course, can do little good
unless you make personal application of the suggestions
given. I do not think you will find it hard to follow the
outline given. I'm sure you will be able to get a good
chiropractor to make the adjustments for you, and I believe -
if he is a good one - he will locate the trouble and find
that it is in accord with the reading. At least, that has
been our experience.
The first portion of the treatment suggested is to give you
relief; while the other - when followed consistently and
persistently - is to remove the cause. Of course, if you
have had this for a great number of years, you will for a
long time have such tendencies - but it should be removed
entirely if you keep up the treatments. You will know
whether the information in the reading coincides with your
own feelings and experience or not.
Know that we will want to keep in touch with you from week
to week, to know just how you get along. It is only by those
that cooperate with us that we are able to know just how much
good such information may be in the experience of our
members.
Of course, we have contributed this reading thus far.
We will expect you, as your means and your abilities are
improved, to contribute according to your means and
abilities.
Don't fail to let us hear from you. With all good wishes and
kindest personal regards, I am
Sincerely,
ASS'N FOR RESEARCH & ENLIGHTENMENT, INC.

9/14/34 EC's letter to Mr. [
595]:
Mr. [
595]
..., Ala.
My dear Mr. [
595]:
I haven't heard from you directly for some little time.
Have been wondering if you have been getting along all right
and how you are feeling and if your interest in the work of
the Association is as great as it was when you sought the
information last June. Of course, we cannot tell just how an
individual gets along unless we hear from them. We are
mighty anxious to hear and are very glad to keep in as close
touch with those who seek information as it is possible.
Very recently, at the meeting of the Board of Trustees,
[
9/02/34] it was felt that it would be very worth while for me
to get in touch with all of our members and to see whether
their wishes were to keep in touch with the work as they have
in the past. As you will note from the inclosed list, there
are a number of activities that we make a special effort to
gather data on that may be worth while to individuals that
are interested in these special phases of the phenomena of
life. We would like for you to check these off and return
the list to us so that when we have the data or information
that we feel would be helpful to send out from time to time
we will know just what you are interested in. [GD's note:
These activities were later printed on the back of the
membership applications, so that new members could check
their special interest.]
We don't want to send our members material that they think
nothing of and are not particularly interested in. We, of
course, are trying to stress the physical readings the more
this time and believe it is the most desirable thing to do
and is the greatest interest to the greatest number of
people, but this you will see in the Bulletin. Of course,
it is necessary that we have some contributions, but these,
as you know, are made according to the abilities of the
individual. Check this list over and let us hear from you,
won't you?
With kindest regards, I am
Sincerely, [signed] Edgar Cayce
