2/14/38 Mrs. [
601]'s letter: "Not being up to par I believe
is harder on those around us than the one who is under the
weather.
"This is the first day I have a little ambition to write and
know I must, for you are waiting to hear from me.
"The pain in my back is much easier and have been keeping up
the compound and heat every day, also using the Radio-Active
every night. Since I rec'd the rdg. last Tuesday and
following along the suggestions, yesterday was the first day
that the depressed feeling was a speck lifted. I am taking
the osteopathic every other day and Dr. Thompson [John R.
Thompson, D.O.] is trying to give me the treatment outlined.
It is rather difficult, though.
"I know I have a long road to travel and am hoping I will not
be too great a worry on [
480] and [
619]. That is the worst
part of it for me, for I know that [
480] is not ready to
carry worry of this kind."
2/19/38 "The appointment reserved for [
480] for Tuesday
2/22nd A.M. you will please use for a ck. physical for
myself. I will fill out my questions on the back sheet of
this letter.
"The manipulation for the lifting of the coccyx is rather
difficult and do not believe Dr. Thompson understands very
clearly how it should be given. Please make definite
questions regarding this particular manipulation.
"This is certainly a trying period for me and feel like a
very useless human being.
"There doesn't seem to be much relief to the pain across my
back and still have to get up so often during the night. I
have been following along with all that has been outlined
unless the question I asked about the diet was vaguely
answered and I may be taking some foods that are not right.
Please make definite questions regarding foods that are hard
on the kidney."
