3/21/38 Daughter [
480]'s letter: "They've just taken Mother
down for her X-Ray treatment, which wears her out terribly.
I do not know how she is able to stand them, considering what
she has been through. I hardly realized what pain she was
in. They give her a half hour of X-Ray about every other
day. This is going to continue for two weeks.
"We are so shocked. Daddy is very badly broken. Do you feel
that the treatments recommended through the reading were
allaying or trying to cure? Was it a sudden turn for the
worse? I know you feel about all this like we do. Would
you take ck. up to satisfy me as to whether this thing has
extended to the bowel and urinary tract? and will the X-Ray
be successful? Can she be with us very long? Why doesn't
Dr. McAlpine operate? She is in Room 395 Hudson Bldg.,
Harper Hospital, Detroit. Pray with us please. Love to
you all."
