This psychic reading given by Edgar Cayce at his home on Arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Va., this 29th day of August, 1936, in accordance with request made by the mother - Mrs. [635], Active Member of the Ass'n for Research & Enlightenment, Inc.

TEXT

1. EC: Yes, we have the body, [608]; this we have had before.
2. As we find, in the present there is rather a disturbing condition that is acute and may become VERY acute, or may become if not eliminated through the proper channels a constitutional disturbance that would later give disturbances through the functioning of the organs - now developing towards those activities of their effect upon the blood stream, the eliminations, the nervous system, and the reaction to these.
3. But if the eliminations and those precautions respecting the diet and the activities of the body are given proper consideration, these disturbances may be wholly eliminated.
4. There is, from the unbalancing of the elements or salts of the body, an incoordination between the deeper and the superficial circulation. And it makes a distress or strain upon the hepatic circulation and especially as in reference to the adrenal glands and to the organs of the pelvis, to the activities as coordinated with the liver and the eliminations; causing conditions wherein there is the attempt of the superficial circulation to carry off drosses that should be carried in the kidneys, the alimentary canal, and thus those reactions in same.
5. In the present then, maintain this as rather the diet:
6. Do not mix cereals or white bread with citrus fruit juices; that is, at the same meal. Let the citrus fruit juices be the principal diet of mornings.
7. Do not take meats of pork or of beef at any time in any manner, save very crisp bacon may be taken with coddled egg occasionally.
8. Beware of fried potatoes. These may be taken occasionally with the jacket on, as roasted or boiled.
9. Take equal portions of Sulphur, Cream of Tartar and Epsom Salts. A couple of tablespoonsful of each mixed thoroughly together. Each morning before a meal is taken, take about a level teaspoonful in a whole glass of water. Before retiring of evening take about half a teaspoonful in the same amount of water.
10. Do not expose the body too much to noonday or midday sunshine.
11. After the evening bath, well to have a gentle rub, preferably with Cocoa Butter, along the whole length of the spine, but principally over the lumbar or from the middle of the back or 9th dorsal to the end of the spine - even occasionally, once a week, over the whole of the limbs and the soles of the feet.
12. Keep these up. Have more of vegetables that are of the leafy variety, more of lettuce and celery, tomatoes, carrots, mustard, spinach - all of these GREEN, or cooked, or both.
13. Do that; else we will find a great deal of trouble arising.

15. (Q) Should the present applications and tonic be used or discontinued?
    (A) Discontinued.
16. (Q) Why does she grow so fast, without gaining weight? Is it normal?
    (A) As has been indicated, those balances are not being kept in the glandular secretions. Hence the administration of those things necessary for the creating of a balance and producing the proper eliminations. This is normal under the conditions but abnormal for a normal body.
17. (Q) Should any local applications be used on body for boils or rash?
    (A) Where there are the boils and those breaking outs or the rash, use any good antiseptic salve or ointment. These are good if they have the less of the mercury. Those that we have indicated for such would be preferable; that is, such as Resinol.

REPORTS

1. 2/22/37 Mother [635]'s letter: "There is something wrong with [608]. After you gave her rdg. for rash last summer I followed rdg. to letter and she gained NINE pounds, but for more than year or more than that she would have little spells of headache, which would upset her for day or two. I've gone along with that until past 3-4 months those headaches are more numerous and they put her in bed and now for past 2 months they increase and I've had doctor - he gives her tablets. Two weeks ago she was sick in bed - doctor gave her course of calomel. She seemed as tho she would be alright. This past week thru yesterday she was upset again. Sat. night, all day yesterday and last night and still a little this morning, she was wild with headache. Now you know she shouldn't have those. There must be something causing them. She eats very little, then I have to coax, beg, threaten, scold - I'm a wreck when a meal is over - so is she. What's the answer? What bothers me terribly is that with the headaches there is always at first a good bit of temperature. Is it her stomach or what? I do hate to bother you with all your other worries but I do hate to see her suffer so. This morning she looks so peaked, dark circles way down and, too, I forgot to tell you - Sat. night and last night her head ached so badly I gave her 1/2 of an Aspirin. I know I shouldn't but couldn't see her suffer so."
