This Psychic Reading given by Edgar Cayce at his home on Arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Va., this 22nd day of September, 1937, in accordance with request made by the mother - Mrs. [635], Member of the Ass'n for Research & Enlightenment, Inc.

TEXT

1. EC: Yes, we have those conditions, those anxieties, those activities with this body; these in part we have had before.
2. As we find, the debilitation and the conditions through the slowing activity of the liver as combined with the organs of the body in and through eliminations (as of the lower hepatic circulation) produce an inclination towards a malarial effect.
3. Hence the poor capillary circulation, as well as poor eliminations, the languidness, the headaches, the tendency for nervousness and fretfulness in the body, irritating and irritated by any conditions that tend to upset; making for an abnormal character of appetite at times hungry yet little satisfies, at others not hungry and no appetite and nothing digests quite right.
4. As we find, in meeting the conditions in the immediate:

First we would give a few doses (about three) of the Eno Salt; a teaspoonful heaping - this dissolved at least in a tumbler full of water but in a tall teaglass, see? and taken before breakfast of morning for three successive mornings. This will only tend to flush the kidneys, flush the activity of the alimentary canal, and also tend to alkalize the system.
6. Then we would begin in this manner:
7. On Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, take two White's Cod Liver Oil Tablets of a morning AFTER the morning meal. These properties are to act with the general system, and will be found to be most helpful.
8. On those days when the White's Tablets are NOT taken (as on Saturdays, Tuesdays, Thursdays - and you'd better make a list, not just guess at it! Set it down as a rule to go by, see?), take Ventriculin WITH the iron - only a level teaspoonful - just before retiring of evening. With the taking of these properties we create blood.
9. Then at least twice a week have the Oil Rubs along the spine. Begin as a short circular motion close to the head, down either side of the cerebrospinal system, and then especially across the abdomen, through the area around and above the liver, and across the area as the colon runs, and then in the caecum area, and then the descending colon. It would be well that at one time there be used the olive oil, and at the next time the Cocoa Butter.
10. In the matter of the diet: As indicated, the properties in the Ventriculin are to create blood; while the activities of the White's Tablets are to make for not only a better activity of the thyroids and the glandular forces in the digestive system but to aid in an appetite.
11. Do not eat fried foods, especially not fried potatoes nor fried meats of any kind. Use same rather roasted, broiled or the like. It would be better to use only lamb, fish or fowl as the meat; these baked, roasted or stewed; but NOT fried. Not too much greases, though butter - of course - is to be used; but not too much of gravies. Milk should be a part of the diet, but preferably use not the whole cream but half and half.
12. These as we find would make for corrections in the eliminations, if the rubs are given properly, as well as the other properties; and we will soon find a gain in the weight, in the circulation, in the activities, and the loss of the tendencies for the irritations.

14. (Q) Shall I continue with the Vinol?
    (A) We would leave off the Vinol in the present. This may be necessary later, but this should be begun only when there is the closer - or the showing of the activities from the change in the system's activities.
15. (Q) What causes pains in stomach around navel?
    (A) The contraction of the muscular forces. Hence the rubs, as has been indicated.

Now she weights 110# - a gain in 2 yrs. of 28#, but the most of that came last yr. while taking the cod liver tablets and Ventriculin. She was 12 in May. Her age bothers me. Will you give her another rdg. before starting to school, as you have the past two years?"
