7/31/34 Letter from [
612]'s mother: "...How happy I was to
receive your lovely letter, and how ashamed I am that I've
waited so long to write to you. Please forgive me, but I've
thought of you so often - in fact, every day!
My little girl is doing nicely - although still in the
hospital. Once things were not going so well, something
serious with her blood count, and again yesterday a little
rise in temperature - but she is better now, thanks to the
Dear Good God!
And now, Mr. Cayce, about you! Meeting you just gave me a
new lease on life, and strengthened my belief in God -
brought Him closer than He has been for years. You can't
imagine what that means to me who was doubting and straying -
so you brought me a precious blessing.
As is the case with many, I suppose, I didn't appreciate your
reading until I read the report. Outside of the personal
message of hope and the medical aspect - do you know it reads
like one of the great symphonies of Beethoven? There is
something ethereal and majestic in its composition -
something NOT of the 'earth-earthy.' The march of celestial
and grand spaces beyond our ken stands out between those
lines. I guess I read it every day - and it still awes me,
and comforts me.
Thanks for all the nice things you said in your letter about
us. I can say for myself that life is richer and sweeter
since you were sent to me. And may God be willing to
inscribe my little one in the Book of Life and bless her with
health and wisdom.
My best regards to Mrs. Cayce whom I'm sure appreciates her
rare and wonderful husband. She reflects your great
simplicity and sweetness.
My regards to Miss Gladys - and may God bless you, Mr.
Cayce...
I'll want another reading soon - this is not the time yet..."
