This psychic reading given by Edgar Cayce at the office of Mr. Mortimor Gordon, 80 Broad Street, 32nd floor, New York City, this 23rd day of July, 1934, in accordance with request made by the self - Mrs. [614], new Associate Member of the Ass'n for Research & Enlightenment, Inc., recommended by Mr. [257].

TEXT

1. EC: Yes, we have the body here, [614].
2. Now, as we find, the general physical conditions of the body are very good. There are some warnings that may be given respecting the response of glands in the physical forces of the body that have been disturbed by some reactions in the system. But these, as we find, may be the more easily controlled in the present than were they allowed to continue in such a way and manner as to disturb the activity of organs through which they supply the elements for the reactions in the system.
3. These, then, are the conditions as we find them with this body, [614] we are speaking of, present in this room:
4. The BLOOD SUPPLY is very good, yet from the very activity of some of the glands as related to the functioning of the internal forces - in the thyroids and the lacteals - there is a richness shown in the portions of the body that with a correction made in this direction will not be as burdensome to the circulatory system, and which will keep the body from creating the physical forces in the nature of too much avoirdupois for the system; and that will make for better assimilation of that which may be taken into the body that will make for the better prevention of any of the distresses that may arise in the body from improper activity through the circulation. For, as we have oft indicated, if there is the perfect activity of the blood supply this will keep the drainages in the system, keep the activities in all plasms of the cellular forces in bodily functioning, bodily organs, functioning towards normalcy. For, if there are those provisions in the activity of the forces that are assimilated in the varied forms of the activities of the body, in itself the body creates that which keeps a normalcy. For this body, mentally, physically, has much to accomplish in this experience in the material affairs. For, more might be given in the mental abilities of this body than ordinary.
5. As to the activity of the NERVE FORCES in the body, we find not a suppression, but rather too easily do the imaginative forces or impulses of the body find activity. Not that the body is overly high nervous tensioned, but the expressions of nerve energies for various portions of the system become too easily active at times - as may be indicated by the glands as we have shown here that are affected in their relationships to the general system.
6. As to the functioning of the ORGANS THEMSELVES:
7. Brain forces are good. The mental responses to the body are of those natures where there may be builded in the mental (which is in the mind the builder, ever, for physical, mental or spiritual attributes of a body) those forces, those activities, that become constructive in their nature. Hence it may be said, as we have indicated, that there are the abilities and possibilities of the body in those directions. And this is one of the FEW that may also make a career for self as well as a home. Not only is the home the greater career for any soul (for it is nearer akin to that which is the basis for the longings of the inner force or activity of man), but these may be applied in such a way and manner - and in those directions whereunto the ENTITY, the body, the soul, may minister much in ways that may bring, through the mental forces of the body, that which will be not only hopeful but helpful to many others. And those activities that bespeak of such relationships as the formulating of plans, ideas or ideals for the development of the relationship of child life to that of ITS coordinating itself to the activities of a material world, are those in which the body may find expressions that will not only bring for self help and contentment but make for the greater abilities in making the home in itself and its relationships the greater activity in the experience of the body.
8. As to the physical forces that pertain to the sensory organisms; in the eye, ear, nose, throat, here we have - as we have indicated from the gland effect here - a fullness that at times causes an uneasiness, rather than a disorder; for this makes for those reactions there.
9. As to the respiratory system, the activities of the larynx, lungs and bronchi are normal.
10. Heart's action near normal.
11. Pulsations normal in the present, as is the pressure in the blood stream.
12. We find the digestive system is very good. Here we find, from those secretions from the activities under which the body passed with the reproductive forces in the body itself, there has been brought a high nervous activity; the conditions that have been indicated in the actions of the glands themselves. But the lacteals, the activity of the liver, the activity of the pancreas, the spleen, are near normal; though those in the lacteal ducts show an increase in the body-building forces. Hence those activities in same need precautions to be taken in the present.
13. The kidneys and the activities of the organs of the pelvis are near normal, though those things that make for the nerve tension will gradually increase unless precautions are taken for correcting or keeping in an even balance the system as related to the whole supplying of elements as created by the activity of glands in the body for the rebuilding in its vital force and system.
14. Then, in meeting those conditions that would bring about the keeping of a balance between the physical and spiritual, we would add the vibrations that may be had from the Radio-Active Appliance. This appliance should be attached about twice each week, when the body rests in the afternoon would be the better period for such an application. This we would add to the extremities of the body; as to the right wrist and the left ankle, then the next period attach first to the left wrist and the right ankle. Attach this for a period of at least thirty to sixty minutes, then, twice each week.
15. This, with the precautions in the diet - that does not make for an increase in the functioning of the glands in the thyroid or the lacteals, to keep them from being normal - will create for the body the correct balance throughout.

17. (Q) What is the nature of my present infection? Where is it located?
    (A) As indicated, in the glands; which make for the richness of the blood supply such as to produce - in the effluvia - the irritation to those portions of the body.
    With the corrections of the blood in its activity through the system, and with the adherence to those forces where there are not too much of the starches for the body, we would find we will correct these conditions.
18. (Q) Which glands?
    (A) Thyroid and the lacteals, as indicated.
    You see, the low electrical vibration that is created in the battery application - or the Radio-active forces - will produce the equalization in the circulation, producing for the activities of the body that which will bring not only the assistance in its action through the plasm forces of the gland disturbance but for the whole of the body-building.
19. (Q) If it can be cured by medical treatment what is the treatment and what doctor should I use?
    (A) Not necessary for a doctor at all, for this may be applied by self; and - as indicated - it may be best taken as the body rests. In the second week this will make for changes to such an extent that the irritations will disappear. Then do not stop, but keep for at least another period until there has been the better coordination between the sympathetic and cerebrospinal system, as indicated from the overflow in the body itself; and we will overcome the condition.
20. (Q) Will I have any more children and what will they be?
    (A) This, of course, depends upon the activities of the body, the associations. This may be possible, yes. As we find, if there will be the conception through the latter portion of the year - November, October - it would make for the tendencies towards the male sex.
21. (Q) What can my husband do to relieve him of his headaches?
    (A) We haven't the husband.
22. (Q) He is in the library of these offices.
    (A) Have that correction made in the 3rd and 4th cervical, where pressure produces an easy tendency for cold and for the flow of the blood supply to the head.
    As indicated by headaches, these are as signs of conditions being of an abnormal nature in some portions of the body. This position in the 3rd and 4th cervical, you see, also makes for that disturbance of a too full a stomach - that has been at times accredited to being the cause of the headaches; but this pressure in the 3rd and 4th cervical is rather the cause of the headaches and the stomach disturbance also. Six treatments or adjustments there osteopathically, and he shouldn't have any more stomach disorder (that is, indigestion at times or fullness) or headaches either!
23. (Q) What can he do to relieve him of his infected nails?
    (A) Correct the flow of blood supply, you see. Make the correction in the 3rd and 4th cervical, and these conditions will be overcome. These are the effect of the effluvia in the blood supply, as we have indicated in the conditions of the body itself here - [614] - we have been speaking of. In the one we have an infectious force from the gland secretions. In the other, the husband and associate here, we have an infectious force produced by a subluxation in the 3rd and 4th cervical area, that AFFECTS the digestive system. Do these, and we will bring for this body - for the body's associate, companion, husband (and this is well for both) - the proper conditions in the physical.
    As for self: Follow the spiritual forces, that may bring that contentment, that association in the family relations, that will bring harmony, peace, happiness, for all.
