This psychic reading given by Edgar Cayce at the Sun Air Farm, Oak Ridge, N.J., this 5th day of November, 1934, in accordance with request made by the self - Mrs. [631], Associate Member of the Ass'n for Research & Enlightenment, Inc.

TEXT

1. EC: Yes, we have the body here, [631]; this we have had before.
2. Now, as we find, conditions in the general physical forces of the body are much improved from that as we have had here before. While there are the effects, and those conditions in the effects, of that which has been outlined that disturbs the body, and makes for distresses at times in the general activity of the body, these we find are in the main on the improve.
3. Where there are and have been the accumulations or poisons that affect the movement in the locomotions, that affect the extremities - or especially in the hands and in those conditions that affect the general disturbances that arise from the inability of the system to assimilate that taken, these must have - then - their due process of activity must have - the proper considerations.
4. Then, as we find in the present, THESE would be the proper applications for the further corrective measures:
5. First we would have the Atomidine as a portion of those things taken in the system. This, as indicated, will be not only a solvent for the salts or the acids that have become as accumulations but will make for such gland activity - not only in the thyroid but in the digestive system, in the lacteal ducts, in the adrenals, in the caecum and throughout the whole of the system - as to be helpful. But in the present we would take these properties in this way and manner: Begin with one minim mornings before the meal and evenings before retiring, in half a glass of water, for three to five days. On the sixth day take two minims twice each day for five days. On the eleventh day take three minims twice each day for five days. Then rest for five days. Then begin again with the one minim.
6. Also we would have the oil packs across the caecum, across the kidney and across the lower portion of the stomach and colon area.
7. The effect of these oil packs is to enliven, through the activity of the absorption through the perspiratory system, the activities in such natures and measures as to produce a greater quantity (than at present) and a superficial activity of the lymph circulation; hence setting up drainages to such measures that the poisons will be eliminated from the system, through the application not only of other properties taken internally but in the use of the high enemas.
8. We would take the high enemas at least once a week, and these should carry with same - in the last waters - an intestinal antiseptic that will make for not only the cleansing but relieve the conditions in the flow of the mucous membrane and lymph and emunctory circulation in same; that of an alkalin nature. Hence in the last quart or half a gallon of water used, put at least two tablespoonsful of Petrolagar - the Alkalin Reacting nature. It is necessary that this be injected slowly and be kept stirred in the container as it is given.
9. We find that the Epsom Salts baths would be preferable to any of the oil baths. The solution should be not wholly saturated but a very heavy solution, and as hot as the body can bear. These should be given at least once or twice a week. If there will be used the proper rubs after same, we will find they will NOT tend to weaken the body. These rubs should be with a compound prepared in this manner:
10. To 6 ounces of Russian White Oil, or Usoline, add:

    Witchhazel...................2 ounces,
Oil of Wintergreen...........1 ounce,
Oil of Pine Needles..........1 ounce,
Tincture of Benzoin..........1 ounce,
Oil of Sassafras.............1 dram.

    These liquids and oils tend to separate when standing in solution. Hence, it is necessary that these be shaken well together before massaging the body with same. This should be especially on the arms, from the brachial center, over the shoulder, to the finger tips; and from the torso of the body down the lower extremities to the toes. Massage this solution thoroughly into the body with a ROTARY motion. Not so much of pinching, rolling, but a general rotary motion. Also in the cerebrospinal system, from the base of the brain to the end of the spine.
11. These, as we find, will not only strengthen the body but make for a better superficial or capillary circulation, which is so needed by the body. They will also stimulate for a nearer equalization of the pulsation, the heart's activity, and the circulation throughout the body.
12. In the matter of the diet be rather specific and consistent; for these are the necessary properties upon which the body MUST build.
13. Whether morning, noon or evening, have one meal each day of ONLY raw green fresh vegetables; such as lettuce, celery, tomatoes, peppers, radishes, spinach, mustard, cabbage (raw - the red and white, as may suit the taste of the body). These may be altered about, with the oil dressing or the salad dressing. When using either the oil or the salad, have cayenne in same; not too much, to make it unpalatable, but sufficient to make a stimulation in same, that would be more effective.
14. One meal each day should be preferably of vegetable juices, altered with citrus fruit juices; these may be either fresh or those that are preserved without the benzoate of soda. At the same meal there may be taken toast, browned bread - either whole wheat or the rye, or the sour bread that is made with the yeast AND whole wheat - these with small quantities of butter are the better. When eggs are taken at any meal, ONLY eat the yolk of same - NOT the whites of the eggs.
15. The other meal (preferably in the evening) should consist of fish or calves' liver, or tripe, or pig knuckle - these for the meats, or fowl, or especially wild game would be better; with a well-balanced cooked vegetable diet - vegetables that are seasoned but not with meats or greases, rather with butter or oils that are vegetable in their nature.
16. Keep these conditions, making for a consistent application of all these given, and we will find from now on the improvement will be much faster.
17. Keep in the sunshine as much as possible; this for the body is much preferable to the Sun Ray or Ultra-violet ray - but when there are days or periods that there is little or no sun for the body, then these rays should be added for the effect of the ultra-violet upon the vitamins that are contained in the diets as outlined for this body, [631].

19. (Q) Should Gold and Soda be taken on same days as Atomidine?
    (A) Do not include the Gold and Soda in the present. When the Gold and Soda are taken, these should be preferably now given through the electrical vibration, see - making the attachments in this manner: First, the positive, or the smaller plate or lead, to the 4th lumbar. The larger plate, passing through the solution of Gold, would be attached over the umbilicii and the lacteal duct, or the area a hand's breadth from the umbilicii center, towards the right side, in a perfect line, see?
    The solution of Gold would be the ratio of one grain to one ounce of DISTILLED water; not plain water, for the plain precipitates. And use the Gold solution in a larger container, with a coil of the hollow lead such as used for soldering lead in the small lengths, see?
    We would give this treatment every other day, preferably as the body rests in the afternoon, for twenty minutes. This may be gradually increased to thirty minutes.
    This would be given from the wet cell battery, which does not carry the charcoal but the copper sulphate, the zinc and the sulphuric, as given.
20. (Q) Should all treatments be given up during the menstrual period?
    (A) Use only the massage and the outward and internal application; NOT the baths nor the high enemas or colonics.
21. (Q) Why do my eyes bother me occasionally, and what is to be done for them?
    (A) This is the improper or poor circulation through the upper portion of the body. If there is the circular motion given in the application of the oil and the solution after the baths, as indicated, over the whole of the cervical and upper dorsal area, these will be much improved. Keep the eyes closed, of course, during the oil treatments. We would find that the use of any of the solutions for the eyes that cleanse same, wash same, is to be desired in the general conditions.
22. (Q) Will the cold weather affect my condition?
    (A) Not necessarily; unless there's over exposure.
23. (Q) Would you advise a warmer climate for the winter months?
    (A) Not necessarily; well, as the climate would be, not until after the fifteenth of January anyway, and then you ought to be able to run wherever you want to!
24. (Q) Will the left hand straighten, and what is causing this condition; also left and right arms?
    (A) Poisons in the system. An arthritic reaction in the muscular forces, through the accumulations. Hence those conditions that were given, for the use of those properties after the bath. You see, the solvent is the baths from the Epsom Salts, with the Atomidine. Now, the drainages would be set up by the massaging with the oils and a relieving of the tissues in the torso by the oil packs. And when giving the oil packs, let this be for at least an hour - necessitating the changing of same about three times during that period, see? The changing is preferable to attempting to keep same heated, for this changes the temperature to such a nature that it changes the vibrations of same, see? Three to four thicknesses of the flannel on the body, with the saturating in the oil - as hot as can be applied to the body.
25. (Q) Shall I continue with the Atomidine douches?
    (A) These taken at periods are most helpful. They are less irritating, and are the activities that are most helpful.
26. (Q) Should any external means be used to keep the oil packs hot?
    (A) Just as indicated; PREFERABLE that these be changed three times during the hour period of application, see? Keep the body, of course, well covered during the periods these applications are being changed, see.
27. (Q) Shall I continue with the Olive Oil taken internally?
    (A) Olive Oil would be good for anyone; it's good for this body!
28. (Q) Are baked potatoes classed as an acid reacting food?
    (A) When the bulk is taken, yes. When the jacket and very little of the pulp is taken, no.
29. (Q) What causes the soreness in the neck and what can be done for it?
    (A) These massages and these baths, as we find, should take care of the condition. As given, the massage should be not too severe, but with the application of these oils and solutions we will find the tensions will be relieved. Be CONSISTENT; but be VERY persistent.
30. (Q) What is the cause of the frequent urination during the night?
    (A) The tendencies for the system to adjust itself to the alleviation of the accumulations of poisons that are thrown off through the system. When the colonics and the oil packs are applied, these conditions should gradually adjust themselves.
31. (Q) What causes the pain in right leg near back of knee? What is to be done about it?
    (A) This has been given. These are the effects of the accumulation, or crystallization of the activities of the poisons and acids in the system.
    We would follow these suggestions consistently, persistently; not as rote for self, but rather as in that attitude that there is being removed from the system that which will prevent the body in its mental and spiritual self from being hindered in performing a service to its fellow man. Look to the spiritual influences within self, for the divine is thine own heritage - and is thine if thou wilt but accept and live as thou accept same.

2. 12/27/34 She submitted questions, including: "Have started on the tr. Tues., but now we are not sure whether the plates are correct or not... Why do I still have as much pain, stiffness and general discomfort as formerly? Am I responding to tr. as I should? Should I continue all tr. as outlined in last rdg.? Would you recommend a warmer climate?"
3. 1/02/35 "What is cause of constipation and pain around the heart the past few weeks? Have been eating plenty of raw fruit and vegetables. Why do I get a headache about once a week lately? Why do my fingers become stiff and swollen one day, and almost normal the following day? Still have practically all the same pains that I had since my last rdg...Conditions at the Farm are more agreeable since my last letter to you."
4. 1/02/35 H. J. Reilly ltr.: "Mrs. [631] is still with us at the farm. Her case is something to thank you for. I think she has improved at least 60%. At the present time I think a change into the city would be good for her and we can continue her treatments at the city institute. If she leaves the farm about the end of Jan. and returns in the first flush of spring (about April) I think the change will do her good... And don't worry about jeopardizing my interest or think you are interfering with your suggestions. I get my best results working with you."
