1/27/42 [
641]'s letter to EC:
Dear Mr. Cayce:-
"Thank you for your most helpful inspiring letter of January
8th, which you sent out to the members of the Association for
Research & Enlightenment. [See under
281-59 Reports]
"In times like these many of us are apt to forget God and to
put our trust in man's own might and power instead of
trusting in God; so I welcome your suggestion and the
opportunity to join with you and others in setting aside a
few moments each day to renew our faith in God and to ask for
his guidance and help during the trying times which we now
have and which are to come. And I feel sure that by so doing
each of us as individuals and as a group with God's help may
be of service to others.
"I am sorry that I haven't had the time to write to you
before now - also to send Mrs. Cayce a map of New Jersey,
which she asked me to do. I will try to get one to enclose
with this letter before I mail it to you. [Edgar Evans Cayce
was in Officers' Training at Fort Monmouth, N.J.]
"Last week I made a trip by bus thru Virginia and North
Carolina and was gone the full week from New York. I have
had a talk with the [
412]'s about my associations with them
during the coming year, but nothing has been decided as yet.
Mr. [
412] showed me the Reading which he got on the business,
[
412-13] and he seemed to feel much better about the
prospects for the coming year after receiving it.
"[
288] wrote me sending the estimate on the house. It was
quite a bit more than we had planned on, but I think perhaps
we can make it. She didn't say in her letter, but perhaps
she is planning to economize by cutting out some things,
although I don't think it would be wise to cut out too much.
"I am enclosing a check for 10 dollars which is the amount I
still owe you on my last reading.
"Please give my regards to Mrs. Cayce and the rest."
Sincerely, [
641]
"P.S. Tell Mrs. Cayce that I was unable to get a map of New
Jersey today, but will do so as soon as I can - "
5/42 Mr. [
641] bought a house in Va. Beach, lived in it a
while, rented it all thru war yrs. and afterward. He sold it
in 10/53 for three times what he paid for it.
