7/07/37 GD's letter to Mrs. [
189]: Dear Mrs. [
189]: No doubt
you have heard all about the Congress through Mr. [
257]. We
missed you and wished you could have been with us. Hugh Lynn
had to leave for Washington right afterwards, to the Scout
Jamboree; consequently, we haven't mimeographed the N.Y.
Group [
5753-2] Reading, but he'll be back tomorrow and we'll
get the copies to you within the next few days. It certainly
is lovely the part you have taken and are taking in this, and
I know this is just the beginning of a great work around New
York - due primarily to your efforts; because, from your Life
Reading, I know you are the key to that whole Group.
Now I am writing you about another of our Group here,
who - according to her Reading this afternoon, a copy of
which I am enclosing - will shortly be joining YOUR Group
there! [
649] is now twenty years old, and has just finished
a course in Interior Designing at Maryland Institute -
according to suggestions made in her Life Reading. As you
will see from the enclosed Check Reading, she is advised to
use all acquaintances in New York to get connections there.
Well, you read the latter part of this Reading and you'll get
the whole story. She talked with Mr. [
257] when he was here
and he said he would help her make connections, and she is
writing to him - but I suggested that she enlist your aid.
Although I know you have your hands full, you are in a
position to be of the greatest help to her in getting located
"as per suggestions."
According to her Life Reading she, [
649], aided in the
decorations of the Temple Beautiful in Egypt - during
the period when we all were there. Since you were in that
period, and are connected with so many in the furniture and
decorating business who were also in that line of work then -
according to their Life Readings (such as Mrs. [
1246], for
instance) - I just know you can help [
649]. She is a lovely
girl.
I am asking [
649] to write you direct also, as well a
Mr. [
257]. It will probably simplify matters to have you
correspond direct with her. Just know that we will all here
appreciate your efforts in this direction. She is one of
our Life Reading "projects" and we just have to "see her
through." So please help to get her located, the same as
if she were in your immediate group there - for I'm sure she
soon will be.
With love, and thanks awfully.
As ever, Gladys
7/26/37 Mrs. [
189]'s letter: "I am sorry that so far I have
been unable to do anything for Miss [
649]. As a matter of
fact, I have not even answered her letter, but I will do so
today."
4/18/38 GD wrote Mr. [
826] and Mrs. [
264] in DC to get in
touch with Miss [
649]: "She has been over a year trying
to get placed; has just recently succeeded in obtaining a
position there."
9/29/38 She obtained a physical Rdg. - See
649-4.
10/04/39 GD to Miss [
954]: "By the way, if you can find an
opening for our little 'Interior Designing' friend who spoke
at the Congress, please let us know."
See subsequent Reports under
649-1, Life Rdg.
