This psychic reading given by Edgar Cayce at his office, in Pinewood on Lake Drive, Va. Beach, Va., this 26th day of March, 1932, in accordance with request made by her mother, Mrs. [654], Associate Member of the Ass'n for Research & Enlightenment, Inc.

TEXT

1. EC: Yes, we have the body, [653]. Now, as we find, there are disturbing conditions in the physical forces of the body. These, as we find, are of specific natures, and the disorders are the contributing causes to those conditions as appear as results or effects of these specific disorders.
2. These, then, are the conditions as we find with this body, [653], we are speaking of:

There are the effects of an injury to the muscular forces and to the tissue in the cerebro-spinal system, as well as the effect of thickened tissue in the walls of the abdominal region, and when there is extra exercise mental or physical, or any activity that produces a congestion or exposure that makes for such congestion, these - as scar tissue in the thickened portions, of portions where healing has taken place - bring about strains on the activity of the assimilating and eliminating system, and produce such conditions as make it easy for the body to take cold; or not producing that as will throw off or prevent congestion from affecting the muco-membranes of the throat, of the intestinal system, and producing pressures in the alimentary canal in such a manner that makes for slow activity in the hepatic circulation.
4. In these existent conditions, as we find, these come rather as spasmodic reactions, as indicated from over-exercise, over-eating. The colds arise as an effect, and these are not causes but effects of the disorders and the conditions in the system.
5. Unless, as we find, these are corrected, the specific conditions, we will find there will be a continuation of thickening of these tissues in the muscular forces, especially along the left hip and the smaller portion of the back, and through or across the right side to the area in the lacteal region. These will gradually, as the body grows, become more of constitutional conditions, and may bring many a character of disorder to the body.
6. As we find, these may be corrected in the present, and so stimulated as to make for absorption with a developing body, so that in the course of a few months there may be nearer normalcy, and a normal development of the body physically and mentally.
7. As we will find, these would be first applied in the form of manipulations, osteopathically given, to aright those strained muscular forces along the cerebro-spinal system, especially with reference to the locomotary centers both from the lower plexuses in the lumbar and sacral region to those in the upper dorsal-brachial plexus and cervical regions, that there may be an even, easy flow of the blood in its circulation, as well as of the nerve impulses through their various activities.
8. Keep more of an alkalin reaction in the system, and absorption will be more easily taken place in the body.
9. We would also find that it would be well, after every other application of the manipulations and corrections, to apply the violet ray over the cerebrospinal system, that there may be a stimuli to the nerve centers and impulses from the plexus of the nerve centers to carry on in the activity of eliminations as assimilations are taking place; so that these refuse forces from these thickened places or conditions in the intestinal area, in the tautness of the muscular forces in the cerebro-spinal system, may be eliminated from the body.
10. The diet would be well to be kept in the more nerve and blood building, but alkalin in its reaction. At least one meal during the day (and preferably the morning) should be of citrus fruit diet, with little else combined with same - unless of rice cakes or the yolk of eggs, or the like, with a little milk or cereal drink.
11. The rest of the foods should carry more of those that will make for blood and nerve building, altering these so that as near as possible there will not be the necessity for the use of cathartics or laxatives to produce a little above normal eliminations. If these are necessary at times, then use those that are of the alkalin reaction - and well also that intestinal antiseptics be taken, that these are cleansed entirely from the system.
12. The manipulations and corrections should be given at least three times each week. Every other treatment apply the violet ray.

14. (Q) What should be done for breaking out on face?
    (A) When these manipulations are given, and the eliminations are carried on normally, these will disappear. They are the effects of poisons being carried back into the system. With these corrections, unless the stimulation of the exterior circulation is done by the electrical forces, the tendency will be for this to increase - but with the use of these, these will disappear - and, we will find, will be carried through their normal channels. These are the effects of poisons in system, as indicated. Relieve these, unless they become of constitutional or of specific disorders in the eliminating system.
15. (Q) What intestinal antiseptic should be used, when taking alkalin laxative?
    (A) That that is alkalin in its reaction, Lavoris or Glyco-Thymoline.

1. 2/11/32 Mother's ltr.: "I should like to know the cause and cure for the breaking out on her face. Would also like to know about her side. She was in an auto accident about a yr. ago and her ribs were badly bruised on the INSIDE; since then she has been suffering with her side and has no energy or strength."
2. 3/23/32 "Cause and cure for trouble in right side and mucus in nose and throat. The breaking out on her face is much worse and I do hope we can get the rdg. this time as I know you can help her."

REPORTS

1. 4/03/32 Mother's ltr.: "I rec'd the rdg. several days ago and think it is wonderful. [653] was in a terrible automobile accident about a yr. ago, was hurt internally, her left hip, lower part of back and right side were hurt. Just where the rdg. says the thickened tissues are. I will start her on the tr. just as soon as I can find an osteopath... [She gives report on her own 654-4 rdg., giving her own bad experience with lady D.O., Dr. Ellis.] If you can tell me would also like to know just what she should eat. I want to do everything just right. I'm enclosing $5. I will send the rest just as soon as I can."
2. 4/07/32 EC's ltr.: "Thank you very much for yours of the 3rd, with enclosure.
   "I am glad that you feel the information is in line with the conditions, and I feel sure if you are able to get the treatments you will find excellent results. It is too bad that we sometimes find the doctors do not interpret the information properly. To be sure, if treatments can be helpful when properly given, they can be just as harmful when improperly given. I'm sorry to know of your experience with Dr. Ellis. We have had some experiences where a doctor was not the right one for one case, but would be the proper one for another case. Would it not be advisable for you to take [653] to Dr. Ellis and let her examine her and see, irrespective of the reading, just what she would advise as the proper treatments. Then you draw your own conclusions and let me know as to whether they are in line with that suggested or not. If not, then we will try the chiropractor, who may be able to give the treatments properly. She needs some of the treatments to be adjustments. However, most chiropractors give very little massage, and for scar tissue a massage is very necessary. I believe I would advise this procedure - go to Dr. Ellis, not telling her anything about the reading for the time, and see what her advice would be - ask her to describe the kind of treatments she would give [653]. The you write me about it, and I'll do my level best to give you the proper advice. I'm sure we will arrange some way so you will be able to get the right treatments." 3. 4/13/32 "Thank you so much for the list of foods [653] should eat. I took [653] to Dr. Ellis as you suggested and had her examined. She said just the same as you gave in the rdg., so I had her start on the tr. She can't use the violet ray, she doesn't have one. She uses the infra red light. Will that do, or will she have to have the violet ray, if so will one of the little hand violet rays do?"
4. 4/19/32 EC's ltr.: "From the information I understand that the hand violet ray is meant. I would be afraid of too much Infra Red, which acts upon the deeper tissue of the body - while the violet ray acts upon the superficial. If the doctor gives deep enough treatments, then the superficial is more beneficial than the deep therapy in light. You might be able to give this yourself at home. From the reading, I am sure the hand violet ray would be the thing for her."
5. 8/26/34 Mother's ltr.: "I did all the things you told me to do for [653] and she certainly did get better and the pain in her side left entirely. A little later, and when you can, would like to have a check reading to see if she is o.k., or if she needs something more. Her face is still broken out."
