4/30/39 Miss [
665]'s letter describing her dream of
4/28/39:
"Dear Mr Cayce, I am sending you a dream I had Friday night.
I kept thinking about it all day, it impressed me so much,
I told Mother [
540] about it. She told me to send it to you
and maybe you could tell me the meaning of it. I hope you
will because it seems so different from any other dream I
have ever had. Thank you very much." Sincerely yours,
[
665].
"On the night of Apr. 28th, 1939, I had a strange dream.
I dreamed I was at a place that seemed like the Girl Scout
camp and school combined. As I was sitting there doing my
lessons, the scene changed. I was in a castle. All around
me there were chairs marked 'march'; peace; and war. In one
of the Peace chairs sat Queen Victoria. Although I could
not see him, it seemed as though Hitler was sitting in one
of the War chairs. A janitor came into the room and called
for all the Peace chairs. These he stacked in a pile. He
then called for the march chairs; and stacked them in a pile.
He did the same for the War chairs. As I was getting ready
to leave, one of the piles, I don't know which one, toppled
over. I started out of the door, when I saw a march chair
with a hole in the middle of it. I threw it to the janitor
and said 'Here is one for you', and went out. I had settled
myself in the car, ready to go home, when I discovered I had
left something. I started to go back after it, when someone
barred the way, and I could not get in. I turned around
and went back to the car. At camp, a cat of mine had some
kittens. I put the kittens in the car, but the mother cat
was not there. I looked out the window and saw her sitting
under a tree. I held one of the kittens up for her to see.
She came running to them. She looked at them, turned and
ran away. The kittens would die without a mother. I found
another cat to take her place. This one stayed."

Dear [
665]:-
"Your Mother gave me your letter with copy of your dream -
hope can help a bit with this - tho am sure each of us are
much better able to interpret our own dreams than others -
unless one is gifted like Joseph of old.
"This dream seems to me to be emblematical - and think both
visions are the same in different phases of the conditions
of the world at present - the chairs March - Peace - War
- the three phases of man's experience here - at the present
time the three individuals - Queen Victoria - Hitler - and
the Janitor the three phases of man's labors - just as the
kittens - and the realization that without the mother -
love - they would die - so man embracing any one phase
of the experience would perish - all are a part of his
sojourn here in materiality.
"Would not think it meant other than as suggested - Queen
Victoria represents - the great Peace time of the British
Empire - and she still holds the balance of power between war
- and peace the Janitor the common people who are crushed
between the extremes of the other two.
"Don't know, hope you can make something out of this -
if not don't hesitate to ask me questions about same -
appreciate your taking the time to write - and am glad
to try and be of service - all should heed their dreams
more am sure. Hope this will help.
"Trust your mother is feeling better - and that you are
having a fine time in school these days.
"Thanking you,"
Sincerely, Edgar Cayce
