This psychic reading given by Edgar Cayce at his home on Arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Va., this 27th day of October, 1934, in accordance with request made by the self, through her cousin, Mrs. [409], Active Member of the Ass'n for Research & Enlightenment, Inc.

1. EC: Yes. Conditions are not so good here. There has not been the CONSISTENT application of those things that were to be used as the preventatives, nor has there been the use of those things that were to assist in setting up the drainages.
2. WE would find the better in the present to continue with those local applications under the direction of the physician, until there has been the alleviation of those conditions in the localized portion in the throat, bronchi.
3. But we would find it most helpful to give the body Epsom Salts baths. Don't take them too often, but take one every other day until three or four have been taken - at least. For each bath use about ten pounds of Epsom Salts to fifteen gallons of water, as hot as may be stood by the body. The Epsom Salts not dissolved, or that is left as an accumulation from the bath, may be saved and used again. However, it would be preferable that it be used fresh each time.
4. Following each Epsom Salts bath we would give the body a thorough massage and a rubdown along the spine with oil; Olive Oil and Tincture of Myrrh, equal portions - heating the oil and adding the myrrh. Massage all the body will absorb at each treatment.
5. Also we would use, as indicated, those things that we have given as the antiseptics, and the applications for preventing localized conditions - that have come about here now.

7. (Q) What causes redness and soreness on outside of throat and over whole body?
   (A) Poisons in the lymph circulation. Accumulations there, where drainages have not been set up with the eliminating system. And the attempt of the system to rid the poisons produces these conditions. Hence the applications that we have indicated for equalizing the conditions, through the vibrations along the centers of the cerebrospinal system, and for making the eliminations through their proper channels; then - for the localized condition as indicated - the necessary antiseptics to prevent the infectious forces; then the baths that would keep down inflammation and open the pores and let the poisons be SWEAT out of the system!
8. (Q) Is this an abscess in the throat, and should it be lanced?
   (A) As we find, the applications that are being made are the better for it, unless it comes to a head. It STILL may be, as we find, absorbed in the greater quantity and eliminated - as yet. While this is the more painful, it is the much better method and with these applications that we have indicated, it may be absorbed and eliminated.
   The better local application would be to paint the outside of same with aconite and laudanum, one-third aconite to two-thirds laudanum - Tincture of Laudanum; but this would have to be done by a physician.
9. (Q) What caused the pain through the shoulder and breast of right side?
   (A) Accumulations there of poisons. The strain on the glands, especially the mammary glands - coming along on the right side, up under the arm and over the breast; through the system's attempting to eliminate - and the glands filling with the lymph duct poisons make the pain, as also does the accumulation of poisons not draining through the shoulders, you see. Unless these ARE eliminated (these poisons), as we have indicated, we are going to have much more serious trouble:
10. (Q) Should the tonsils be removed?
    (A) Not in the present condition; it would be impractical! For with an operation we would not have the proper coagulation. Well, the bleeding would be too severe - the coagulaion would not be good. In fact, we would have strangulation.
    This may be necessary later, on account of the infectious conditions; but if we set up the drainages with those vibrations and with those things indicated, we will bring better conditions for this body, [667].
11. (Q) If the treatments are taken correctly, how long before body will be normal?
    (A) As we have given again and again, the answer to such a question would depend upon the activities and the consistency as to the applications! If they are taken PROPERLY, we should see RELIEF in less than twelve hours! If the treatments are just continued partially, and half-heartedly, the conditions will be localized - and leave the body to be under much GREATER distress. With the proper treatments, we should have corrections in thirty to sixty days - be entirely relieved.
12. We are through with this reading, and for the present.
