This psychic reading given by Edgar Cayce at his home on Arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Va., this 7th day of June 1935, in accordance with request made by the self - Mrs. [667], Active Member of the Ass'n for Research & Enlightenment, Inc.

TEXT

1. EC: Yes, we have the body, [667]; this we have had before.
2. As we find, if there had been carried out fully those suggestions given we would not have this return, or this condition that disturbs the body in the present.
3. Then, we find that in the present there are still those congestions in the excretory functioning of the liver, producing the poor circulation; indicated through the lower portion of the body, by the spots or splotches on limbs, and through the coordination with the secondary cardiac reflex activity; also those congestions and fullness in the throat and those tendencies for the lack of the proper excretory functioning, and the activities of the thyroid.
4. Hence we would find THESE would be the proper applications for the general physical forces, and for the specific conditions in this body at this time, [667], we are speaking of, present in this room:
5. First, we would have at least three to four hours of the Castor Oil Packs over the liver and caecum area. Let this extend on the right side of the body, from just below the breast on the right side to the hip bone, and to the ileum plexus - or just above the pubic bone on the central portion of the body; just as hot as the body can stand same, for three or four hours in succession, you see.
6. Then we would begin the next morning and take two Caroid and Bile Salts Tablets after each meal for the whole day, which would make six in all.
7. Remain quiet during this whole period, for this should purge the system thoroughly.
8. After the last dose is taken (that same evening), begin with a thorough massage along the cerebrospinal system, from the 1st and 2nd cervical to the end of the spine, with a compound prepared in this manner:
9. To 4 ounces of Russian White Oil, add (IN THE ORDER NAMED):

   Olive Oil..........................1/2 ounce,
Kerosene or Coal Oil...............1/2 ounce,
Compound Tincture of Benzoin.......1/2 ounce,
Oil of Cedar Wood..................1/2 ounce,
Oil of Sassafras...................1/4 ounce.

These when standing tend to separate. So, when ready to be used for the massage, shake well together and pour a small quantity in a saucer. Massage into the spine all that will be absorbed, the whole length of the cerebrospinal system.
10. After three days (that is, after the purging through the use of the Castor Oil Packs and the Caroid and Bile Salts Tablets), begin with small doses or quantities of Atomidine; one minim (that is, drop) before the morning meal and one minim just before retiring, for four days - each dose in half a glass of water.
11. Then begin with the use of the Violet Ray on the throat and neck and chest; this kept for three minutes twice each day, until the system has adjusted itself.
12. As to the meals, during the period of purging - and especially the one day that the Tablets are taken - we would not eat a very great deal; but begin with only such as chicken broth, or mutton broth, with rice or the like - at first. Do not have a heavy meal for at least two days, but semi-liquids - and these should not contain too much grease. Then, after the period of purging, there may be a gradual change to heavier meals; but not too much sweets nor too much starches, at ANY time.
13. Do these things, CONSISTENTLY, and we will find conditions improving. Leave these off, or do otherwise, and we will find bad results!
14. Ready for questions.
15. (Q) Should the Oil Packs and Caroid and Bile Salts Tablets be taken just one day?
    (A) Just be taken one day; or take the Oil Packs preferably in the evening - and rest during the whole period, then the Bile Salts and Caroid Tablets the next day, see?
16. (Q) Is stomach alright now?
    (A) Not ALRIGHT; but if these will be followed we will find better effects.
This treatment will be SEVERE, but the condition is the lack of the proper precautions being taken - and must be removed!
Of course, more of the rubs with the compound may be taken. There should be one taken at least every other day (just before retiring at night) during the whole period of taking the Atomidine and the Violet Ray.
Do this, and we will find conditions will be improved.
17. We are through for the present.

REPORTS

1. 7/31/35 "I would like very much to get a check reading. I would have been by there before now, but I had to come back to Norfolk as my brother is very ill in the hospital.
"I have stopped using the violet ray on my throat. I have been feeling much better, but I have days when my throat hurts very much. I have also been having boils on my face and neck. I hate to ask, Mr. Cayce, for you to give me a reading without having any money to send you. I was telling [409] about it and she told me she didn't think you would mind if I paid you when I could. I haven't been able to work this summer, and I do want to get well so I can return to work. [GD's note: Apparently she had been separated from her husband for some time.] Thank you very much. Here are a few questions: Are the boils I have been having due to my blood, if so how may I clear up my blood and build it up? What causes the dizzy and faint spells I have? Would you suggest a diet for me to follow?"
2. 8/09/35 See 667-4.
