This psychic reading given by Edgar Cayce at his home on Arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Va., this 3rd day of August, 1936, in accordance with request made by the self - Mrs. [667], Active Member of the Ass'n for Research & Enlightenment, Inc.

Present: Edgar Cayce; Gertrude Cayce, Conductor; Gladys Davis, Steno. Mrs. [667] and sister, Mrs. [409], Mrs. [264], and L. B. Cayce.

TEXT

1. EC: Yes, we have the body here, [667] this we have had before.
2. As we find, while conditions are some what improved, there is still much to be desired in the physical forces of the body being near to normal.
3. The activities in the body as we find in the present are more from nerve reaction, or the pressure upon the nervous forces of the body that upsets the whole of the nervous system - and thus makes for the disturbances through the activities of the body.
4. First, there ARE those applications that have been suggested that have not been fully carried out, as was intimated or given for the body.
5. In the present, then, as we find, there are pressures in the lumbar and lower dorsal area, and these make for the upsetting of the organs through the pelvis area, as well as making for that reaction upon the nervous system that prevents rest, making for the body being easily tired, upsetting the eliminations and those activities as related to the digestive forces; making for those disturbances with the organs of the digestion and their natural reaction to the sensory forces through the nerves and energies that make for the sympathetic reaction from the head - or those headaches and those conditions in the system generally.
6. As we would find in the present, there should be at least three to four deep osteopathic manipulations AND adjustments. If these are given a week apart it would be very good, but there should be at least four to six of such treatments.
7. And then we would take internally a compound put together in this way and manner - it is not very good to take, but take it - it's needed for the whole of the system - this will make for the adjustments in the nerve forces, PROVIDED the manipulations are given - DO NOT take unless all the treatments are taken together. Begin with these properties after the the first treatments by the adjustments and manipulations. Add these in the ORDER given:

   Tincture of Valerian....................2 ounces,
Elixir of Calisaya..................1 1/2 ounces,
10% solution Iodide of Potassium.......10 minims,
10% solution Bromide of Potassium......30 minims,
Elixir or Essence of wild Ginseng.....1/2 ounce,
Sufficient carrier to make for
the better reactions (which
would be made from 1 oz.
each of Simple Syrup and Elixir
of Lactated Pepsin)..................2 ounces.

   Be sure to add the ingredients in the ORDER named. Shake the solution together and take half a teaspoonful after each meal.
8. EAT the meals! Let these be carried out in their fullness, and we will find the better conditions for this body.
9. Ready for questions.
10. (Q) What causes the faint spells at times?
    (A) The poor circulation through the activities of the organs of the pelvis as related to the general circulation. The whole of the blood supply is very low. Hence the injunction that the meals should be eaten, and these should be of those things that are body and blood building. Plenty of vegetables. Not so much meats, or even if meats are taken chew the meat but do not swallow the flesh itself.
11. (Q) What causes the lump in the right side?
    (A) A skin as well as the tendency for the accumulations there of those conditions indicated internally. The manipulations through the lumbar, the lower dorsal, coordinating the rest of these, and with those properties to aid in the digestion and the nerves forces of the body, these should gradually disappear.
12. (Q) What is the burning in scalp at times?
    (A) Poor circulation. Increase the circulation and we will find a normal condition recurring for both the deeper and the sympathetic circulation.
13. (Q) Would it be advisable to have tonsils removed?
    (A) Be very unadvisable under the present conditions. If the corrections are made so that the influences from the activities in the system are changed, these accumulations should disappear and these should NOT need removing at all. Removed under the present conditions, we only have the expense, have a distress, and the system is worse off than it would be without their removal.
14. (Q) Please outline a diet at each meal.
    (A) There should be about an equal balance between the citrus fruit juices and cereals for the morning meals, or fresh fruits with a little bacon but this but this very crisp, and any of the cereal drinks. Use the whole wheat or cracked wheat as a cereal, WELL cooked. But do not have the citrus fruits AND cereals at the same meal, or even on the same day! Do not eat the cracked or whole wheat unless it has been cooked three to four hours. This may be taken with milk.
    Between the morning meal and the noon meal take a glass of MALTED milk. This would be well for the general health of the body.
    Noons - preferably only raw vegetables.
    Every afternoon have the malted milk with an egg in same, the whole of the egg - the yolk as well as the white, for these are elements that are necessary for body-building.
    Evenings - principally vegetables, well-cooked. IF meat is taken, let it be lamb, fowl or the like; CHEW the flesh but DO NOT swallow the meat!
    The activities for the whole of the body will be improved by following these.
