This psychic reading given by Edgar Cayce at his home on Arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Va., this 26th day of September, 1934, in accordance with request made by the mother, through Study Group #2 of the Ass'n for Research & Enlightenment, Inc.

TEXT

1. EC: Yes, we have the body here, [671].
2. Now, as we find, while there are disturbing conditions in the physical forces of the body, if these are taken in the present, with a little persistence these may be easily corrected; thus bringing about a normal condition, removing the causes and the conditions that have been and are as tendencies in the system will be removed.
3. These, as we find, are the conditions that disturb the body, [671] we are speaking of, present in this room:
4. As the body is developing, we find there has been a tendency through the dietetics for the body to produce in portions of the assimilating and distribution in the glands of the body that which makes for disturbances in the circulatory system, or in the DISTRIBUTION of that as assimilated. Not wholly a gland condition, not wholly a subluxation in the cerebro- spinal system, yet all of these have been and ARE contributory causes to these that we find as results in the body.
5. The pressure in the area about the lacteal ducts is such as to produce inflections in the activity of the adrenals, thus producing an excess of the activity through the kidney action. Not to the excess that we may say to have that of kidney disorder, but the functioning of same is disturbed; and unless there ARE corrections we will find it will grow to be a detrimental condition to not only the area as indicated but its activity upon other portions of the system. For the reflexes from the action of the adrenals to the thyroids and to the glands of the head, throat and neck make for a slowing circulation through these portions of the body also. Hence we have an accumulation in throat, in tonsil, in the adenoid area or the back of the nasal cavity; the lymph tending to produce that of a swelling nature, and these naturally become reservoirs for the accumulation of poisons that should be eliminated through the system.
6. These then are the effects, NOT causes; the causes being in the areas where the activities produce pressures upon the functioning of the glands as related to the activity of that assimilated, and the circulatory system.
7. Then, in meeting the needs of the condition for this body, [671] we are speaking of, present in this room:
8. We will find while these are of an unusual nature, they will be that which will bring for the conditions to be corrected in the body.
9. First we would begin with a massage along the cerebrospinal system each evening as the body is ready to retire, with a compound prepared and used in this way and manner, using only what the body will absorb (adding the ingredients in the order named):
10. To 6 ounces Russian White Oil, add:

    Witchhazel.........................2 ounces,
Tincture of Benzoin..............1/2 ounce,
Kerosene, or Coal Oil..............1 ounce,
Oil of Pine Needles..............1/4 ounce,
Oil of Sassafras..................10 minims.

    It will be found that this will not mix, but will tend to separate into at least three variations when standing; but shake thoroughly together before a small quantity is poured into an open container for massaging into the body. Begin at the 9th dorsal, massage downward - in a circular motion - particularly over the kidney area and over the lower dorsal and sacral area. Then begin at the 9th dorsal and massage in a circular motion TOWARDS the base of the brain. And particularly (after the going upward) use the circular motion downward from the brain to the brachial area, or just under the shoulder blades, you see.
11. We would make a tea to act with the glands of the system. To 2 ounces clean Timothy Hay (cut fine; this should be dried, NOT fresh), add 16 ounces of water. Steep as tea, or put into a china container and pour boiling water over same and let it set for half to three-quarters of an hour. Strain off. Cut 2 ounces strained Honey in 1 1/2 ounces Grain Alcohol, and add to the solution.
12. Shake this together before the dose is taken, which would be 1/2 teaspoonful before the evening meal and at retiring. This will make for the change in the activity of the kidneys or the bladder; this will change, too, the assimilations for the system, with the massage, and bring about a normal condition for this body.
13. Ready for questions.
14. (Q) Will you give the cause and cure for the sore eye?
    (A) This arises from the poor circulation, that forms in the nature of the lymph sacs and becomes irritated by the activity to these portions of the system.
    When this massage and these properties have been given we will keep the eliminations near normal, and the conditions will be relieved - there will be the coordination of eliminations; as in throat, tonsil, pressure on the ear, pressure on the glands in throat, etc.
    To keep eliminations near normal, give alternately small quantities of Milk of Magnesia, Milk of Bismuth and the Phenolphthalein in the wafer tablets. Not all these given at once, but a small quantity - teaspoonful of the Milk of Magnesia on the day or evening this is given; a quarter teaspoonful Milk of Bismuth when this is given, but this stirred in a whole glass of water; and half a wafer of the Phenolphthalein on the day that is given. Rotate these, not all at once, and only when necessary for increasing the eliminations - and especially during the periods when the rubs and the tea are being given.
    As to the matter of diet, keep closer to the vegetable and fruit diet; NOT too much of meats, especially until the conditions are entirely eliminated from the body.
15. (Q) Are the conditions of her tonsils affecting the eyes?
    (A) As we have indicated, all of these conditions in the eyes and in the tonsils, in the throat and the nasal cavity, the pressures even in the kidneys, are the EFFECTS of conditions - NOT the causes.
16. (Q) Should tonsils be removed?
    (A) Not in the present; and, as we find, these conditions will be ELIMINATED through the applications that have been indicated.
    Do that.
17. (Q) Any other advice that would be of help to his body at this time?
    (A) Do these things in the material, and we will find it necessary - of course - that there be kept the correct attitudes of those about the body as related to the conditions; and as the applications are made make the suggestions for the better moral and spiritual life, and it'll grow into the warp and woof of the soul of the body.
