Edgar Cayce Readings, 682-1

(Physical Suggestion)

TEXT

EC: Yes, we have the body here, [682], present in this room.
As we find, conditions that disturb the better physical functioning are in the activities of the glands themselves. While these do not at all times, from the conditions that are affected, show as the cause or the basis of disturbances, if the corrections are made in these directions we will find there will be the better activities and the less disturbing factors in the physical forces of the body.
These, then, are conditions as we find them with this body, [682] we are speaking of, present in this room:
The BLOOD SUPPLY indicates the lack of the vitality that is necessary for the sustaining of better equilibrium. This is produced by the inactivity of eliminations as related rather to used forces in the system, and the tendency for the drying of tissue in portions of the torso itself. The glands that make for nutritious activity becoming disturbed through these conditions, produce a metabolism and a katabolism that are not in accord; though this making for a low pressure in the blood supply makes for an unbalanced pulsation. These, to be sure, are effects from conditions that have been and will be indicated.
In the NERVOUS SYSTEM of the body, here we find the body in its mental activities, its mental control, has kept an equilibrium that would not be existent without the will forces of the body in this direction. And while through these there may be brought to a body a normal functioning, for while the life flow and while the activities of the whole of vitale, the whole of spiritual forces in a body should be the creative Forces, each soul, each body, should see in its own activities that ALL force, ALL power of activity from without and from within is from the same source. And whether it be by the mental influences that are brought to bear upon the active vital forces in the body, or from applications that may be made by an unbalanced condition brought about by the lack of the influences through the general conditions in a system, the additions of these are - in their influence - from the same source of supply.
We find that the nervous forces of the body give expressions through the extremities at times, by the very activities that make for pressures in the system through the lack of elimination of used forces in the system; the tendency for dregs, as it were, to produce pressures in hands, feet, arms, limbs at times. And these are only the indications that some portions are under or in distress.
As to the ORGANS themselves of the body: The pressures as indicated through the nervous forces of the body make for a strain upon the organs of the sensory system, so that the vision, the auditory forces, the active forces of even the taste itself become exaggerated at times in the attempt of the system to create a normal balance in the body. And the lack of the quantity in the blood supply as to its effective circulation through the organs of the sensory system is from these very same sources, a lacking in the assimilation to create the proper balance of elements necessary for the continued resuscitating or replenishing of the vitality necessary for the normalcy in this body.
In throat, bronchi, lungs, larynx, as related TO the organs, the distresses are only from this same lack, yet there is in the glands of same the inability for the creation of the elements that should keep and even balance.
The heart's action is as indicated.
Digestive system and activities of the organs with same have become depleted through this very same disorder.
Then, in meeting the needs of the conditions in this body, as we find, if there will be the keeping of that same attitude to keep for self the correct mental balance as related to self's relationships to those things that may be applied for the retaining of the vitality necessary in the system, and not as rote, there may be brought about a near normalcy for this body. Being consistent, being persistent with same will make for the reaction that is most helpful to the body.
Begin first with very small quantities or doses of Atomidine; one minim twice each day, morning before the meal and evening before retiring, for three days. Then increase the quantity to two minims twice each day for three days. Continue increasing the dosage one minim every third day until five minims are being taken twice each day. Then begin over again, starting with the one minim and gradually increasing as indicated.
After the first round of the Atomidine, begin taking all of the Olive Oil the body will assimilate, in very small quantities; that is, three to four times each day take a quarter teaspoonful. This should be kept up during the whole period the Atomidine is being repeated.
When beginning with the Olive Oil, we would also begin with the application of the violet ray over the cerebrospinal system, and over those portions of the body - as the glands of the thyroid, as the glands of the mammary; which means under each arm, over the arms, across the diaphragm, across the intercostal centers along the area of the lungs themselves. This should be taken every third day for at least fifteen to twenty different treatments, taking it for a period of fifteen to twenty minutes at each treatment.
In the matter of diet, keep to those things that are the more blood and nerve building, which would be the more alkalin. Not too much of sweets, but those things - as in the fruits and fruit juices - that will make the sugar in the system; and the vegetables that make the vegetable salts which combine with the activities of the glands that are to be stimulated by the elements that work directly with same.
These being kept consistently, we will bring much more normal conditions.
Ready for questions.
(Q) Will you outline a diet for the body?
(A) There have been many diets outlined for the body. As we have indicated, those that are not too much starches but that will keep a well-balance in the vegetables and fruits and nuts, that make for body-building; for the diet will be entirely different in its reaction with the elements of the Atomidine working with the glands' functioning from what it has been heretofore. The body is a very good dietician, when it does not allow itself to overstep. Follow those lines.
(Q) What can eliminate the deposits in joints?
(A) As indicated here, you see, we are to make for the abilities of the system to create those salts, those activities that DISSOLVE same for eliminations and drainages. The gland secretions that will be stimulated by the use of the atomic iodine (Atomidine) in system will create those forces. And with the stimulation of the activities through the canal and through the activities of the drainages of the body, by the use of the Olive Oil, stimulated by the electrical forces of the violet ray that make for the activities, these conditions will be eliminated from the system.
During the first period of taking the properties in the Atomidine, should there become the reactions from the creating of activity in the gland forces of the system, apply saturated solution of Epsom Salts in packs over the joints or portions so affected. This is for LOCAL application only, you see; but the creating of the balancing in the elements in the body through the activities of the glands will absorb and relieve these conditions.
Do that consistently, persistently, and we will find many, many more years of useful service; for the body has meant much to many.

(GD's note: WARNING: DO NOT FOLLOW JUST ONE PART OF THE TREATMENT! EITHER DO ALL OF THAT SUGGESTED OR NONE OF IT, else detrimental conditions might be the result. All treatments outlined in these readings are to work in cooperation one with another, and one taken without the other would not have the desired effect.)
