This Psychic Reading given by Edgar Cayce at his home on Arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Va., this 27th day of March, 1937, in accordance with request made by the self - Mrs. [694], Member of the Ass'n for Research & Enlightenment, Inc.

TEXT

1. EC: Yes, we have the body here, [694]; this we have had before.
2. Now as we find, the basis or the causes of the disturbing conditions are natural forces and influences of the body.
3. Hence those applications for helpful forces should be rather in accord, or that helpful force as would produce or bring about nominal or normal reactions, and not that which would produce or cause cross currents or become irritating rather than palliative or helpful to the better forces of the body - as some applications and conditions that have been and are.
4. To be sure, the changes that are coming about arise from the stoppage - or those periods of menopause that work upon the glandular system and the pressures as produced upon the nervous system.
5. Now, there are precautions mentally, there are precautions physically, that should be assumed or taken by the body during these periods; especially, not those things that are overexciting or that make for great emotional forces in the body. Be mindful in these directions mentally, for the better conditions.
6. Electrical vibrations or the deep therapy treatments are irritating to the glandular system; that is, the manner of assimilations; and to the activities of the nervous system itself.
7. Physically then there must be care as to not allowing the feet to become damp, wet, or the getting over chilled. Then in the diet be mindful that there are not excesses at any time, either in extraordinary dieting (that is, refraining from this or that or the other, from conditions to produce reactions) or in overeating in any direction; but keep rather a nominal, normal balance in the diet - not excesses. Not excesses of those that produce then a form of alcohol in the system, as excesses of sugars with starches, or excesses of meats. Beware of too much of sea foods, but it is well to occasionally have those effects of glandular cleansing as from iodine reaction in the system.
8. Those things that will work then with the digestive forces, those that work with the nerve energies, those that make for keeping a balance in these physical ways, as we find would be the more preferable and helpful to the body - with the precautions mentally and physically in its exercise.
9. We would prepare then a compound in this manner:
10. To 4 ounces of Strained Honey add 3 ounces of Distilled Water. Let come to a boil. Skim off the refuse forces and when nearly cool add 2 ounces of Pure Grain Alcohol. This would be as a carrier. Then to this solution add, in the order named:

    Tincture of Valerian......................1/2 ounce,
Elixir of Calisaya........................1/2 ounce,
10% solution Iodide of Potassium...........20 minims,
10% solution Bromide of Potassium..........30 minims,
Tincture of Capsici.........................2 minims.

    Shake the solution well, and take the dosage of half a teaspoonful about four hours apart.
11. Also each day, in the evening or whenever the body is tired, restless, overanxious, we would use the Radio-Active Appliance.
12. These as we find, if there are those precautions taken in the manners of the activities, will be the bettered conditions for the body.
13. The massages, or not so much correction but massages, as of the neuropathic method, will be preferable; but be sure these extend more from the lumbar areas to the feet than the upper portion; though naturally those about the head, about the neck and shoulders gently massaged will keep these tendencies for headaches, excitements, nausea and the like from disturbing the body too much.
14. Do these as we find for this body.

16. (Q) What can I do for the terrific weak feeling that I have most of the time?
    (A) If those applications as indicated are followed consistently, we will find this may be overcome. In making the massages, have these about three times a week - this should be sufficient.
    The stimulation from the properties indicated, the precautions as indicated, and the vibrations from the Radio-Active Appliance, will overcome these weaknesses and those tendencies for such activities as indicated.
    There will be periods when there will be excess of the flows from the system; these are to be expected. When such periods arise, hot packs of SALT across the lower portion of the abdomen and across the lower portion of the back will be helpful. Use these only when such severe pains occur.
    Well, too, occasionally, of course, after the periods, that the cleansing douches be used. These as we find would be the better with a weak solution of the Atomidine in lukewarm water, or body temperature water. The proportions would be about ten minims in a quart of water.
17. (Q) Is the hormone injection which Dr. Goerger is giving me every day the right remedy?
    (A) As we find, these are TOO SEVERE upon the system. Not well, though, that they be stopped off suddenly - since they have been given, but let them get farther apart as we add those things suggested; then leave off entirely.
18. (Q) Any further advice?
    (A) Do these as we have indicated, in the mental, in the physical activities, in the material applications.

Personally, I have been quite ill, but since I received my last reading from you and upon following the advice given therein, have gotten very much better.
