This psychic reading given by Edgar Cayce at The Oakland, 2006 Columbia Road, Washington, D.C., this 21st day of October, 1934, in accordance with request made by the husband - Dr. [...], D.C., new Active Member of the Ass'n for Research & Enlightenment, Inc., recommended by Dr. Ada Wahlen, D.C.

TEXT

1. EC: Yes, we have the body here, [704].
2. Now, as we find, there are conditions that prevent the better physical functioning of the body. These, as we find, have been of some standing, and the effects are more perceptible in the conditions produced than the causes, which are somewhat hidden in the active forces in the system.
3. These have to do with the manner in which that assimilated functions with the glands that produce the elements necessary for keeping an equilibrium and a balance in the system. Hence we find these as the existent conditions in this body, [704] we are speaking of, present in this room:
4. In the blood supply we find a deficiency, or a form of anemia that is produced by the effects of the distortion in the assimilating forces of the body itself; and these affect the nervous system, in that there are the periods of contraction in the nervous forces of the body. Thus we find the effect produced IN the nervous force and not the nervous condition producing the disturbance, that has at times been pronounced. For the coordinations between the sympathetic and the cerebrospinal nervous system are distorted by this pressure, and the flow of the lymph and the emunctory circulation producing a deeper circulation near normal through the veins. Yet in the arteries we find a slowing of the conditions as they are affected. Hence we have a pulsation at times through this nerve condition that becomes erratic. We have a contraction in the muscular forces to a portion of the body; those on the left side at times become more contracted than the other, yet the general condition or the pressure that exists is from the right side - or in the area of the lacteal ducts. For here we have an adhesion, by a condition that long since has been forgotten and neglected; and this produces those disturbances we have to the assimilation and to the digestive forces of the body, making for the activities in the system that affect the organs disturbed by the impaired circulation and deflected nerve impulse through the ganglia of the sympathetic and cerebrospinal in their coordination with the organs that are under active during those portions of the digestion in the body.
5. Hence we find variations that appear. These conditions usually are followed or preceded (one time it may be one and the other it may be different) by the headaches, contraction in the throat, the lack of flow of lymph through the circulation to throat and head; the drying conditions in the lymph about the soft tissue in the face; the dilations at times even of the sensory system in its effect upon the eyes, upon the saliva, upon the glands of the system. The thyroids become affected, too, through these same conditions.
6. These effects, as we see, arise from those conditions as indicated in the lacteal duct area, and the reactions to the body are through these same conditions.
7. As we find, then, in meeting the needs of the conditions for this body, we need to raise the abilities for the assimilation to become more effective in creating a normal balance in the circulation; through same raise the power of resistance and vitality in the body, through the same effect upon the whole system create a balance between the elements of the potassiums and iodides in the system, and through this make for the growth to a near normal condition in the system.
8. Then, in making the applications for the corrections, we would first begin with the application of Castor Oil packs over the caecum and lacteal duct area, including the lower portion of the left lobe of the liver. These would be applied every other day for at least five or six days of applications; that is, covering a period of about ten days in all. Use at least a three to four ply of very heavy flannel, dipped in Castor Oil and applied as warm or as hot as the body can stand, directly to these portions of the body. Let these remain on until they are entirely cool. Then sponge off the body.
9. After the packs have been given for the period indicated, then we would CLEANSE the alimentary canal by the use of very small quantities of Olive Oil taken internally; all the body will assimilate, but not in large quantities at the dose - rather the very small quantities taken often.
10. When the Olive Oil has begun to act upon the alimentary canal, then begin with the use of the very low form of electrical vibration that may be had from the wet cell appliance, making the connections that carry the charge of same within itself, but carrying a solution of Gold and Bromide of Soda combined in the application to the system. Make the connections in this manner: The negative pole, or that without the solution, would be attached to the 6th dorsal vertebrae. The one carrying the solution, or the larger plate (the nickel anode - and the Gold in same), would be attached to the umbilicii center, OVER the lacteal ducts or the gall duct area, that will have been revivified through the activities of the Castor Oil packs and activity upon the system of the gastric forces through the use of the Olive Oil internally.
11. And we will find we will bring strength, vitality, a correction of the conditions in the system of this body, [704] we are speaking of, and make for a near normal condition.
12. Let the diets always be, throughout the treatments and applications later, rather inclined to the alkalin reactions. However, fats may be taken - in the oils of butterfat, and those things that make for the more easy assimilation, giving strength, and be helpful to the body.
13. Do these, and - as we find - we may bring for this body near normal conditions.
14. Be consistent; be persistent; and we will bring the better conditions.
15. Ready for questions.
16. (Q) How long should the battery be applied at a period?
    (A) In the beginning not more than fifteen minutes each day, but this may be gradually increased. A longer period will bring nausea in the beginning. This may be increased to thirty minutes after it has been taken for some ten to fifteen days.
    A general massage will be helpful, to be sure, FOLLOWING any of the treatments or specific exercises that make for the addition to the superficial circulation.
17. (Q) Are there any conditions there that cannot be cured successfully without an operation?
    (A) If these are applied as we have indicated here, first the oil packs and then the eliminations, it will not be necessary for operative forces.
18. (Q) About how long will it take?
    (A) As indicated here, with the application first of the packs in the portion indicated, in ten days we will see a different condition through the system. With the use of the Olive Oil, which would require some four to five to six days for the more perfect activity through the eliminations of those things set for drainages being set up in the system, alleviating those that have caused the pressure, we would find the condition showing improvement. Then there would be the application of the low electrical formation carrying the Gold and Soda, and these would be in this proportion: The Chloride of Gold 1 grain to 1 ounce of distilled water. The Bromide of Soda 1 grain to 1/2 ounce of distilled water. The vibrations of the Gold and Soda combined would be carried into the system through the applicator, you see. These would be made fresh - that is, the solution, and the Soda and Gold only put together when ready for use - every third day. By the time this is used to the increased period, we should see decided improvements, and know that there will be no necessity for operative forces or for other than that being applied.
19. (Q) Should the vitamin treatment be continued that is being given?
    (A) Until after the excesses or drainages are set up it would be well to discontinue. When these are active in the system, the vitamins in their proper order will - to be sure - be HELPFUL to the body. For, as indicated in that given, there is the lack of the elements that form their proper function to make for proper eliminations, proper assimilations, or to keep an even balance in the replenishing of the vital forces necessary to keep drainages and to keep the resuscitating forces active in the system. Hence where there have been (as has been shown) adhesions that have made for these distortions in the lacteal ducts and in the soft tissue through the caecum portion of the system, these will be broken up by these applications, revivified by the electrical vibrations which are of the low form. For Life is created in the low form of the galvanic activity, while those of high frequency are often the more destructive or lowering the negative or positive; dependent upon the activity in the system, you see. So, it would be helpful to give the vitamins AFTER the applications of the exterior forces, or the cleansing of the system with the oils.
    Do these, and we will bring for this body, [704], normal conditions.
