This psychic reading given by Edgar Cayce at his home on Arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Va., this 28th day of July, 1938, in accordance with request made by the father - Mr. [257], Active Member of the Ass'n for Research & Enlightenment, Inc.

Present: Edgar Cayce; Gertrude Cayce, Conductor; Gladys Davis, Steno.

TEXT

1. EC: Yes, we have the body, [759]; this we have had before.
2. As we find in the present, there are acute conditions arising from a disturbance to the centers where there have been pressures heretofore in the lumbar and sacral areas, that produce a pressure upon the glandular system - particularly disturbing the pubic centers.
3. Thus reflexly we have a temperature, with the glands or centers from the emunctories disturbed - under the arms, or in the areas from these.
4. We would first make corrections, osteopathically, in the lumbar and sacral areas.
5. Then we would begin with an eliminant, such as a combination of Syrup of Figs and Fletcher's Castoria, to reduce the temperature and eliminate poisons. Alternate these; giving half a teaspoonful every hour, first one and then the other.
6. Use an antiseptic, such as Tincture of Iodine, over the swelling areas - or the nodule, see? and Stupes of Mullein over the pubic center.
7. Thus as we find it should not require more than a day or two of these, if all of these are applied, to bring near to normal forces and reactions to the body.
8. Necessary to keep the body off of the feet. Keep the body cool; but make the corrections in the manners indicated.
9. Ready for questions.
10. (Q) What should his diet be?
    (A) Liquids and semi-liquids, naturally, as would be while there is temperature and the effect of same.
11. (Q) What will stop the pain?
    (A) As we have indicated, remove the pressure first osteopathically.
12. (Q) Is his heart normal?
    (A) Normal for disturbances.
13. (Q) What about his general physical condition?
    (A) The general physical condition is very good. As we have indicated, this is an acute condition from a strain or an injury that has made for a slippage in those centers in the sacral and lumbar.
14. (Q) Should he return to Long Island camp?
    (A) This may be done after he has fully recovered.
15. (Q) Any further advice?
    (A) These we would follow; and as we find, if the corrections are made to remove the pressures from the glandular forces, with the reducing of the temperature and eliminations set up, we should bring normal forces.

2. 7/28/38 A.M. Father phoned: "[759] has a growth under his arm, hard as a peach, about as big as an egg." He submitted questions, saying: "Please get the directions to [903], something that can be done tomorrow."

REPORTS

1. 7/29/38 Mrs. [189]'s (Mr. [257]'s secretary) letter: "The osteopath treated [759] this morning and found his back all out of kilter. After the treatment, the child rested more comfortably and his fever seemed to me down. They did all the things you said and will keep you posted on further developments. The poor little fellow has suffered a lot with this thing and the weather here has been so unbearably hot which makes it so much worse. I hope now that with the treatment outlined in the reading they will get him on his feet again in a few days."
2. 7/30/38 Phone request by Father:
   1. What has been the effect of the osteopathic treatments? Have they been given properly? 2. What additional ones should be given, how often and how many? 3. What particular place should Dr. Schoelles stress in treatment? 4. Shall Mullein Leaves be continued? How often and how long? 5. Should Epsom Salts Packs be used on arm itself, or better use Dry Salt Packs? 6. Since moist heat is only relief, what substitute can be used? 7. Under present condition, how much aspirin should be used and how often? 8. Is it possible to keep this lump from forming a head? 9. How can we prevent heading up? 10. What caused the pain in his chest which he complained of twice? 11. Is there any strep in the body? 12. Shall we still paint with iodine and apply salt? 13. Is there any danger of iodine burns to the body? 14. What should be his diet now?
   Temperature 103 3/5 degrees this morning. Doctor says the place has to head up and he wants to open it. The osteopath, Dr. Schoelles thinks he can work it out but without coming to a head.
