This psychic reading given by Edgar Cayce at the David E. Kahn home, 44 West 77th Street, Apt. 14-W, New York City, this 23rd day of November, 1934, in accordance with request made by the mother, Mrs. [903], Active Member of the Ass'n for Research & Enlightenment, Inc.

TEXT

1. EC: Yes, we have the body here, [773]; this we have had before.
2. As we find, there is an increase in the activity of the circulations through overacidity and cold and congestion, that creates for the body a temperature that is above the normal.
3. We would reduce the acidity by creating an excess activity of the congested forces in the liver and through those activities of the spleen; reducing the temperature by the use of any of those effective forces that do not make for the activity of sedimentary conditions being left in the system - and we will bring the normal forces for the body.
4. So, we would keep the body on almost wholly a liquid diet; or citrus fruit juices - with their combinations, or beef juices or such natures that are strengthening and blood building, but not acid producing.
5. Take a laxative such as found in Fletcher's Castoria combined with Syrup of Figs. Take from a small bottle (of 900 drops) a teaspoonful, and add in its place a teaspoonful of the Syrup of Figs. Give half a teaspoonful every half hour (shaking well each time before pouring out the dosage), until there is a full reaction from the alimentary canal.
6. Reduce the temperature by the rub alcohol along the cerebro-spinal system, using the Camphorated Oil over the chest and abdomen.
7. Ready for questions.
8. (Q) Is he anemic and should he take iron?
   (A) He is anemic, from the natural effect of conditions; but if there will be added rather the thyroids and the beef juices, or the White's Cod Liver Oil tablets, these would carry the vitamins and sufficient of the irons' creations for the food value, better than iron taken in the system.
9. (Q) In what form should the thyroid be given?
   (A) In the tablet; one grain in tablet form - about once each day.
10. (Q) For how long a period?
    (A) It would be better to give it for periods of three, four or five days, then leave off for an equal period - and then give again. Then take the pulsation and the blood count, and these will show the correct variation or balance in the system.
    The White's Cod Liver Oil tablets we would continue for periods of three to four weeks at a time, and then discontinue for a week or ten days, then take again for the same period.
11. (Q) Has the body been anemic before the present condition?
    (A) Since the effect of the temperatures that arose in the body through the fevers - Scarlet Fevers.
12. (Q) Does milk agree with this body?
    (A) Dry milks would be better than the animal milk.
13. (Q) Does dry milk have the same value?
    (A) For this body it would have better values!
14. (Q) How often should the dry milk be taken?
    (A) Just as it would with the ordinary milk at the meals.
15. (Q) Whose preparation would be the best?
    (A) Any of these that have the proper content, which would be indicated by the recipes upon same. Dry or Malted, provided these carry the proper content.
16. (Q) Should the other type of milk be eliminated entirely from the diet?
    (A) It may be used in the cooking, or at times it may be taken - but not in great quantities.
17. (Q) Should the body's tonsils be removed?
    (A) We do not find it necessary in the present. The inflammations or infectious forces from same are not sufficient to justify such measures.
