Then we would have the adjustments, GENTLY made. Thompson
may make these, as we find, if they are made not so much
movements of the segments of the spine but gradually moving
such segments by the gentle manipulation; especially in the
lumbar, and the sacral areas, and extending on up to the 9th
dorsal; THEN the upper cervicals, - all treated in that way
and manner. Each day we would give such a treatment for
about five to six days, then have a rest period of at least
the same length of time, and then have the treatments again
for five to six days, see? and so on, until the adjustments
are completely made, - these to be kept in periods of regular
changes in these directions.
In the matter of activities, - let these be rather not so
much as to OVEREXERCISE. Keep the feet dry at all times.
This does not mean they should not be bathed, or like that,
but do not let them be in the wet or get cold.
Do not attempt to lift or push heavy objects around, or
about.
Keep the body and the hands warm at all times, but not
too hot.
Take exercise in the open whenever weather permits. This
should be rather in short periods of walking, or activity
that gives the body associations with activities that are
pleasant, and not distressing or disturbing; but help someone
else in same!
In these ways and manners we will bring the better conditions
for this body, [
780].
Ready for questions.
(Q) Should any change in eyeglasses be made now?
(A) These had best be made after at least the second or
third series of the adjustments; for this should aid in
strengthening the muscular forces of the eyes so that they
would not need so much of a change.
(Q) How long before the body should be normal again?
(A) This depends upon the reactions, to be sure - and the
environmental conditions, and how near normal the reactions
are to the activities that have been indicated.
These are periods through which there should NOT be any
great excitement, nor any troubles that would cause mental
and physical reactions that would annoy the body, see?
(Q) Any other advice?
(A) Do these, for the present.
We are through with this Reading.

10/30/39 Husband's ltr.: "[
780] hasn't been feeling so good
for a while - going through one of those trying times that
all women do when about her age. She asked me to see if you
can arrange to give her a date for a reading. Enclosed
questions."

REPORTS
2/03/40 Letter from [
779] to EC: "...I want to give a report
on the results gotten from the reading on the Madam [
780].
We got busy right away and had the treatments and Thompson
made the adjustments. After he had given the adjustments for
twelve days with rest period of six days between he advised
that the treatment of adjustments was completed and was in
perfect condition and that the reactions to the manipulations
could not have been better. She also took the Tonicine.
And you ought to hear Mrs. [
780] crowing about how good she
felt after or even before the treatments was finished. In
fact the case as a whole is entirely pleasing and
satisfactory in every respect much better than we expected so
quick.
Yes she is more sold than ever on both yours and Thompson's
work. Now there was only one medicine we could not get that
was the Atomidine... Can you tell me where to get it?..."
3/03/40 He ordered Atomidine from Meredith Drug Co., Va.
Beach.
9/09/40 Letter from [
779] to EC: "...She [
780] has not been
feeling well for about two weeks now. Had blood vessels to
break in her eye twice at different times and she complained
of having such funny tingling in arm and face and lips. So
she went to a Dr. and after examination said she had a leak
of the heart and high blood pressure but not so very high.
Gave her medicine and told her to be very quiet - not to
sweep any, or go up long steps or get excited, and to report
back to him in a week. So last Thursday she went and he told
me he did not find any improvement and gave more medicine and
said for her to stay in bed most of the time for about 10
days, but the medicine made her so sick on the stomach till
had to change again. Her diet is of nothing but milk, fruits
and vegetables. She has been pretty sick all day - so much
nausea. The Dr. diagnosis was almost exactly as in the last
reading. The reading was carried out to the letter as far as
we know and she did feel fine for a good long time. So we
thought it best to get a check reading soon as possible and
be on the sure side..."
