To 1 gallon of distilled water, add:
Wild Cherry Bark...............1 ounce,
Sarsaparilla Root..............1 ounce,
Yellow Dock Root.............1/2 ounce,
Burdock Root.................1/2 ounce,
Prickly Ash Bark.............1/4 ounce,
Blossom of Fennel............1/4 ounce,
Mandrake Root..................2 grains,
Buchu Leaves...................5 grains.
Reduce by slow boiling until when it is stained there is 1
quart left. Then we would add 3 ounces of pure grain
alcohol, with 2 drams Balsam of Tolu cut in same. Shake the
solution well together before the dose is taken, which would
be 1/2 teaspoonful before the meals - morning, noon and night
- and before retiring.
Also we find it would be very helpful and restful for the
body to have each evening, just before retiring, a gentle
massage along the whole of the cerebrospinal system, and
extending even to the tips of the extremities - arms and
limbs; using a small quantity - just what the body absorbs
(and this won't be very much in the beginning) - of an equal
combination of Olive Oil and Tincture of Myrrh; heating the
oil to add the Myrrh.
As to the food values, we would use the semi-liquid diet; or
foods that are body-building. Citrus fruit juices a great
deal mornings, noon and night. The gruels of any cooked
nature, to alter or change the diet from time to time. The
Arrowroot as a specialty, or as a dessert at times. Meat
juices in very small quantities at times - that is, the pure
beef juice; this preferably given between meals, if prepared
properly - not more than half to a teaspoonful given at a
time, though it may be given as often as an hour apart if so
desired by the body. Then there may be the juices of meats
(with not too much grease in same) mixed with juices of
vegetables; either those that are cooked in steamers or in
Patapar paper only the JUICES of these mixed together would
be the better.
These, as we find, would bring for this body, [
788], the
greater strength, the greater vitality, and a much easier
condition throughout.
Ready for questions.
(Q) What caused the condition that he now has?
(A) A blood clot, that has made for a poor circulation, and
in the natural nature of it making for a deficiency in the
assimilating forces through the body.
(Q) What exercise can the body take under the circumstances?
(A) Not a great deal in the beginning, but with the rubs and
with the diet and the tonic, we find that the conditions may
be gradually aided or helped wherein the locomotions will be
particularly aided.
(Q) What will help him mentally?
(A) To make for a nearer coordination between the mental and
physical forces of the body, as indicated, by the proper
stimulation to take off the toxic forces.
(Q) How much of a recovery can be expected and what can we
do to furnish it?
(A) This would depend upon not only the response but as to
how consistently and persistently the applications are made.
(Q) Who would be recommended to handle the massage?
(A) Anyone that's interested sufficiently to do it PROPERLY
and consistently. Either one in the home or a good masseur.
Do these, for the better relationships and conditions for
this body - for the present.
We are through.
